Prosperity Bonus

Starting as one of the first priorities in forming a government, is to provide the prosperity bonus as a permanent program with immediate implementation.  This would require the hard work of economists to do what they do best, work towards a freer and more prosperous Alberta. The Conservative Government's job is to level up the quality of lives. 

Creating a low-tax, high-growth economy is the essential policy of any government. The Prosperity Bonus is one part of keeping that promise.

Hyperinflation of asset prices results in wealthy individuals having less ability to purchase ownership in other companies, and otherwise limits the ability to liquidate cash. More money available is available. Making cash for access to food, clothing, and transportation, helps keep individuals from experiencing funding shortfalls. 

First issued under then-Premier Ralph Klein, the prosperity bonus was given out as a check to the hard-working people of Alberta. 

During the first shutdown with Covid 19, the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, moved to provide supplemental income to employees, students and part-time workers. The benefits cut out after an additional 1000 dollars per month above the 2000 supplement meant that for those working to pick up additional hours in a very small number of cases, it was able to provide additional income to keep rental occupancy at a full normal capacity. One of the issues with a benefits system that works for no one, is that it traps those who are struggling to get by, by making them choose between poor health or benefits being cut off. Poor health can and does lead to retraining that occurs across all fields, and with changes in health for the, positive health care needs this reinforcement mechanism. The rent needs to be paid after in hospital surgeries, and relying on limited federal support isn't good enough. Moving, downsizing to pay for a smaller home due to health, and health care related costs incurred by patients needing more time to recover and seek rehabilitative care, is unreasonable. Work hard. Get ahead. If the healthcare system is insufficient to deliver results for the people of Alberta. The benefits system needs to kick in, and support individuals regardless of whether or not large bureaucratic organizations are kicking in to help or not.

A benefit system that cuts off the benefits, rather than supporting those whom are going through a rough time, is not in the public interest. The idea of the Conservative party is that pushing Canadian standards up means allowing them, at a bare minimum, food on the table and the ability to pay rent. That means by moving away from tiered benefits, and providing the universal income, it does provide a future policy that allows for the expansion of social programs without eliminating the benefits that independence gives. There are no major incentives to ensure the well-being of employees, both in a healthcare setting, and in a workplace setting. This will change. 

Call this Capitalism 3.0, if you will, the policy of enriching lives by reducing severe poverty overwhelmingly is the way of the future. The impacts of implementation include micro levels of inflation that can occur with too slow of implementation. This is a policy that substantially reforms the way that people in the province live. The market place can and will adjust to short term inflationary headwinds that occur. Inflation of various goods occurs across many product and service categories.  It is not inflationary to give teenagers the ability to participate in the economy while allowing work to provide additional incentives to make life better.  This would be implemented immediately. The income would be consistent from day one, with no gradual phase-in. It is best to make certain to plan for a rainy day when times are good, and there is no reason to keep market participants out of business ownership. Every Albertan will have a better life. That starts by voting Conservative. Over 40 years, the Progressive Conservative Government has delivered the best living standards in North America. Alberta offers high-paying jobs, with high safety standards, and allows for a greater level of success than any other province in the country.

Provincial Liberals tax and cancel programs like the last decades of Liberals governments.  The Conservatives rebalance the the budget after the Liberals reverse course, spending taxpayer money.The Liberals hack away at their own unsustainable programs after implementation. Progressive, Conservatives, will deliver the incremental improvements that create the conditions to succeed.
