Dr. Prohim Tam is an Instructor, Researcher, and Consultant within the areas of applied artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and next-generation communication systems. He holds a combined M.S. and Ph.D. in Software Convergence from Soonchunhyang University, South Korea. Currently, he serves as a Full-Time Researcher and Instructor at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), a volunteer Trainer at Cambodia 4.0 Center (NGO), an R&D partner with the Mobile Computing and Networking (MCN) Lab in South Korea, and an ItaCham Member of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia. 

His teaching portfolio includes AI, Cybersecurity, Linux OS, and Network Research. Dr. Tam’s research focuses on applied AI, Federated Learning, 5G/6G networks, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Cloud Computing. He has authored several articles published with IEEE, Springer, MDPI, Wiley, and other reputable peer-reviewed journals. He also actively contributes as a reviewer to the research community. His research outputs have been supported by leading funding agencies and programs, including IITP and NRF, BK21 FOUR, the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of South Korea, and AUPP Research Funds. 

Beyond academia, he began his IT intern job at the Cambodia Securities Exchange in 2017, worked as an application developer on integrated AI-based annotation techniques, abnormal detection systems, and policy recommendation models for the National Information Society Agency and the Korean Health Panel Study from 2020 to 2022, and has been actively contributing to R&D projects with MCN Lab since 2019. He has contributed to regional development and consultancy initiatives with organizations such as the ASEAN Foundation through the AI Ready ASEAN program, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC).
