If you want durable, passive noise-blocking earmuffs specifically designed to protect a child's hearing and aid focus in chaotic environments, choose PROHEAR 032; if you need a versatile Bluetooth transmitter adapter to stream audio wirelessly from an airplane seatback system to your own headphones, choose Ugreen Airplane.
These two products solve entirely different problems for the modern traveler, yet they often appear in the same search results because both are marketed toward the flight experience. The PROHEAR 032 is a physical barrier against sound, engineered as a pair of protective earmuffs for kids with sensitive ears or autism. It relies on passive isolation using soft materials and a sturdy shell to reduce noise levels by 25dB. In contrast, the Ugreen Airplane is an electronic bridge, a compact Bluetooth 5.3 adapter that turns non-Bluetooth systems into wireless audio sources. One protects the ear; the other connects the device. Confusing them leads to the wrong purchase every time.
• PROHEAR 032: Its biggest strength is providing 25dB NRR noise reduction with an ultra-lightweight, adjustable design that fits children aged 3 to 15 comfortably; its trade-off is that it offers zero active electronics, battery life, or connectivity features, serving strictly as passive protection.
• Ugreen Airplane: Its biggest strength is enabling wireless streaming from older airplane entertainment systems via Bluetooth 5.3 with AptX Low Latency technology and a massive 32-hour battery life; its trade-off is that it requires compatible headphones and does not block external noise physically.
• The PROHEAR 032 is for parents seeking safety and focus for children in loud settings like mowing or flying.
• The Ugreen Airplane is for adults needing to bypass wired headphone jacks on planes or TVs to use their own wireless gear.
The PROHEAR 032 is not a piece of consumer electronics; it is a safety tool built for specific needs. If you have a child who struggles with sensory processing issues, autism, or simply has very sensitive hearing, this product addresses those challenges directly. The core function here is sound isolation. By utilizing a durable ABS shell and ultra-soft materials, the earmuffs create a sealed environment around the ears. This design effectively reduces noise levels by 25dB, which is significant enough to help a child concentrate during schoolwork, homework, or reading without being distracted by background chatter or household chores.
Comfort is the second pillar of this product's design, and it is critical for extended wear. Children cannot be expected to tolerate discomfort for long periods, so the engineers focused heavily on the headband. The unique design distributes pressure evenly across the top of the head, eliminating painful pressure points that often plague standard hearing protection. The ear pads are made of ultra-soft materials that ensure a snug fit without squeezing. Furthermore, the adjustable sizing allows the same pair to grow with the child, fitting ages ranging from 3 to 15 years old. This adjustability makes it a practical investment for families with multiple children or growing toddlers.
You should buy the PROHEAR 032 if your primary goal is to shield a child from dangerous or overwhelming decibel levels in environments like lawnmower operation, fireworks displays, or racing events. The product meets ANSI and CE certification standards, confirming its reliability for hearing protection. It folds down to 55% of its size and includes a carry bag, making it travel-friendly for family vacations. However, you should skip this product if you are looking for music playback, noise-canceling electronics, or any form of audio enhancement. It is purely a passive shield. If you need to listen to music while protecting your ears, this is not the tool for you. It is also worth noting that while it comes in vibrant blue and pink colors to encourage self-expression, it does not include stickers, though the surface is designed to accept them.

The Ugreen Airplane is a connectivity solution designed to modernize the travel experience. Most airlines still rely on analog audio outputs in their seatback entertainment systems. If you prefer the sound quality of your personal wireless earbuds over the cheap, flimsy airline-provided ones, this device bridges that gap. It functions as a dual-mode transmitter and receiver. In TX mode, it connects to the airplane's 3.5mm aux jack and transmits audio wirelessly to your Bluetooth headphones. This eliminates the tangled wires that usually dangle from a plane seat, giving you freedom of movement within the cabin.
The technical specifications highlight why this is a strong choice for frequent flyers. It utilizes Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring a stable connection with a transmission distance of up to 10 meters. This means you can move around the aisle or walk to the galley without dropping the signal. A standout feature is the support for AptX Adaptive and HD Audio. This technology significantly reduces audio delay, which is crucial for watching movies where lip-sync matters. Without this low-latency capability, the video would drift out of sync with the audio, ruining the viewing experience. The device also supports a maximum of 32 hours of battery life in RX mode and 28 hours in TX mode, ensuring it lasts through even the longest international flights without needing a recharge.
You should choose the Ugreen Airplane if you travel frequently and want to avoid the poor sound quality and uncomfortable fit of airline headphones. It includes a built-in microphone, allowing you to answer calls directly from the adapter without interrupting your music or movie. The LED display provides clear visual feedback on connection status and battery levels, simplifying the pairing process. However, there are limitations you must know before buying. It is incompatible with certain newer models like AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4, and it does not work with musical instruments like guitars. Additionally, it does not actively cancel noise; it only streams audio. If you need silence, this device will not provide it. It is strictly for those who already own Bluetooth headphones and need a way to get the audio from the plane into them.
• Best for child safety and hearing protection → PROHEAR 032: Only this product offers the 25dB NRR rating and physical isolation required to protect developing ears from loud noises.
• Best for connecting to airplane entertainment systems → Ugreen Airplane: Only this device can convert a non-Bluetooth 3.5mm output into a wireless signal for your headphones.
• Best for extended battery life → Ugreen Airplane: With up to 32 hours of playtime, it outlasts any battery-operated electronic device in its class, whereas the PROHEAR 032 has no battery.
• Best for comfort during long flights for children → PROHEAR 032: The adjustable headband and soft padding are specifically engineered for pediatric comfort over long durations.
• Best for audio quality and low latency → Ugreen Airplane: The AptX technology ensures high-fidelity stereo audio with minimal delay, ideal for movies and games.
• Best for durability in rough play → PROHEAR 032: Built with a sturdy ABS shell to withstand active lifestyles, unlike the delicate plastic casing of the Ugreen adapter.
• Best for hands-free calling → Ugreen Airplane: Includes a built-in microphone for call management, a feature the passive PROHEAR 032 lacks entirely.
• Best for multi-device versatility → Ugreen Airplane: Can switch between TX and RX modes to work with cars, TVs, and stereos, offering far more utility than the single-purpose earmuffs.
I would buy the Ugreen Airplane for my own travel needs. As an adult traveler, my priority is listening to content without the frustration of tangled cables or the poor audio quality of airline headsets. The ability to stream wirelessly with AptX Low Latency ensures I get the best possible experience from the seatback screen. The 32-hour battery life gives me peace of mind that I won't be stranded with a dead device mid-flight. While the PROHEAR 032 is an excellent product, it serves a niche demographic of parents and children. Unless you are specifically looking for hearing protection for a kid, the Ugreen Airplane is the superior tool for the general "for airplane" use case, transforming a standard flight into a comfortable, wireless audio session.
The Ugreen Airplane is a transmitter, not headphones themselves; you must pair it with your own Bluetooth headphones. The PROHEAR 032 are passive earmuffs that do not connect to any device or play music.
Neither offers active electronic noise cancellation. The PROHEAR 032 provides passive isolation by physically blocking sound (25dB NRR), while the Ugreen Airplane only improves the audio signal quality but does not stop outside noise.
No, the PROHEAR 032 is a standalone pair of earmuffs, not an accessory for existing headphones. If you want to use over-the-ear headphones on a plane, you need the Ugreen Airplane to connect them wirelessly.
