We are Christians who prioritize Jesus's gospel teachings about love. With a spirit of humility, we embrace the invitation to which Christ calls us to bring about the kingdom of God by welcoming the stranger and serving those often dismissed or forgotten. We embrace science as fully compatible with living a Christian life. We value the dignity of every human being and of the earth. We hold the Bible as our sacred scripture and are not afraid to welcome the insights of scholarship. We seek to create sacred space not only for those grounded in their faith, but also for those whom the church has wounded and for those who have doubt.
Lots of things! Check out our calendar for more info, but here's a quick sampling:
Easter Sunrise Service
Our annual outdoor celebration of Easter at The Dish
Train of Lights
A Christmas-themed train ride in the East Bay

We are the only mainline Protestant affiliated Christian group on campus. We are delighted to welcome students from any or no religious tradition to all of our activities, and we have had students from other mainline denominations, as well as Catholics, evangelicals, and agnostics. All are welcome.
We embrace all LGBTQ persons as created, like everyone else, in the image of God. Moreover, we celebrate the witness of queer people among us, including in positions of leadership, and affirm that diversity of gender and sexual orientation is a blessing. We are the only Christian student group at Stanford that officially welcomes queer people exactly as they are.
We believe all people, regardless of disability, gender, sexual orientation, are called by God to all levels of church leadership, including lay leadership and ordained ministry. Both denominations that support us ordain women and queer people because we believe that all people are created in God's image, and no one category of person is superior to another in God's sight.
There are two great ways to explore Progressive Christians at Stanford. The first is to join us for Bread and Belonging, our Wednesday night gathering. Sign up for our email list to find out where and when we are meeting. The second is to contact a chaplain advisor. Chaplain advisors can meet with you one-on-one for coffee on campus, respond to your questions by email, or set up a virtual meeting.
