This is a report of a two weeks trip to CERN, with the financial support of the CAPES-PrInt program. The main goal was a first contact with the CMS-RPC group to establish future participation of medium or long term, particularly in instrumentation activities. During this time, I attended the Workshop of the group and worked in the assembling of front end electronics and a test chamber. These activities provided an excellent view of several aspects of the RPC instrumentation works. As a result, we were able to highlight possible activities to develop at the LFNP (Nuclear and Particle Physics Laboratory) of UERJ. For this, we are planning improvements to the laboratory infrastructure.
