Liu Shilong received his Ph.D. from the University of Science and Technology of China. He subsequently conducted researches at Zhejiang University, University of Ottawa, and Polytechnique Montreal. He joined East China Normal University from 2026 as an assistant professor. He has published papers as first author in leading international optics journals such as Nat. Commun., Optica, Ultrafast Science, and Laser & Photonics Reviews.

He will build the new teams 'Programmable Ultrafast Photonics Lab' (PUP) at ECNU, expanding the boundaries of linear pulse shaping to nonlinear programmble photonics level. The programmble nonlinear platform will be used to explore extra nonlinear photonics inlcuding mJ- level few-cycle laser, and thus tailor the process in light-matter nonlinear interactions.
