NeuroLight™ Brain Photobiomodulation
Photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as low-level light therapy (LLLT) or transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM), is a non-invasive light-based wellness technology that delivers specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared (NIR) light to the scalp.
Unlike lasers used in surgery, PBM uses low-intensity light that does not heat or damage brain tissue.
Think of it as giving your brain cells additional energy support rather than “stimulating” them electrically.
How does it work?
Scientists believe the light penetrates through the scalp and skull, where it reaches brain tissue.
The light is absorbed by tiny structures inside brain cells called mitochondria—the “powerhouses” of the cell.
This may help:
* improve cellular energy (ATP) production
* improve blood circulation
* increase oxygen utilization
* reduce oxidative stress
* support healthy inflammatory responses
* promote cellular repair mechanisms
These biological effects are the reason researchers are studying PBM in neuroscience.
Why use Near Infrared (NIR) light?
Near-infrared light (typically around 810–850 nm) penetrates deeper into biological tissue than visible red light.
This makes it suitable for research involving:
* frontal brain regions
* attention networks
* executive function
* memory circuits
The exact wavelength depends on the helmet model.
What does current research suggest?
Research is encouraging but still evolving.
Clinical studies have investigated PBM for:
* cognitive performance
* attention
* working memory
* executive function
* processing speed
* mental fatigue
* sleep quality
* traumatic brain injury rehabilitation
* mild cognitive impairment
Many studies have reported improvements in one or more cognitive domains, but researchers also emphasize that larger, high-quality clinical trials are still needed before firm conclusions can be made for many conditions.
Is it scientifically valid?
Yes—but with an important distinction.
The science behind photobiomodulation is real, and there are hundreds of published laboratory, animal, and human studies exploring its mechanisms and possible benefits.
However:
✔️ It is an active area of neuroscience research.
✔️ Evidence is promising.
✔️ Protocols differ between studies.
✔️ It should not be presented as a cure for neurological diseases.
Current evidence supports PBM as a promising non-invasive neuromodulation technology, but researchers continue to study the best treatment parameters and long-term outcomes.
Is it safe?
When used according to manufacturer guidelines and established treatment parameters, PBM has generally shown a good safety profile.
Reported side effects are usually mild and uncommon, such as:
* temporary headache
* mild scalp warmth
* temporary fatigue
* temporary light sensitivity
Individuals should consult their healthcare professional before use if they have:
* epilepsy or photosensitive seizures
* active brain tumors
* recent brain surgery
* acute head injury
* pregnancy (as a precaution)
* conditions where their physician advises against light-based therapies
What will clients experience?
A typical wellness session involves:
1. Initial consultation
2. Wearing the PBM helmet comfortably
3. Relaxing for approximately 15–20 minutes (depending on the device protocol)
4. Many people describe the experience as painless and relaxing
5. Clients resume normal activities immediately afterward
No injections.
No medication.
No recovery time.
What makes BRAINWAVE™ different?
Rather than simply offering a light therapy session, BRAINWAVE™ can position it as part of a comprehensive Brain Wellness Programme, combining:
* Brain Wellness Consultation
* Lifestyle & Mental Wellness DNA Assessment
* Cognitive Performance Assessments
* Photobiomodulation Sessions
* Cognitive Training
* Sleep & Recovery Coaching
* Brain Health Progress Reviews
This creates a data-informed wellness journey instead of a single standalone service.
Important Disclaimer
At BRAINWAVE™, photobiomodulation is offered as a wellness technology designed to support brain wellness and cognitive performance.
It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical disease, and it should not replace medical evaluation or treatment. Clients with neurological or psychiatric conditions should continue to follow the advice of their healthcare professionals.

All of us have challenges that we face at work, such as stress, uncertainty, conflicts, and losing confidence when things are not going well. Usually we try to address these difficulties without thinking about the brain, but what if you understood how to change your brain so that whatever the challenge, you could feel better and your performance at work improved too. For instance, you can use brain-based exercises to enhance soft skills, resilience, agility, creativity, and decision-making. And you can also use it for confidence, team-building, and increasing strategic speed. Keep a notepad and take notes as you listen to each video so that you can more easily recall and practice the tips that will help you change your brain. When you learn how to change your brain, you will have a whole new toolkit to deal with challenges at work. And when you do, you can also share these tools with people on your team.
