My Teaching Journey
My Teaching Journey
Highlights of My Teaching Journey
Throughout my career as an artist and educator, I have had the honor of sharing my passion for art with countless students, each with their own unique creative voice. My journey as a teacher has been incredibly fulfilling, not only because of the joy I find in helping others develop their skills, but also because I have had the privilege of inspiring confidence in aspiring artists, helping them discover their own potential. Art, in its many forms, is a powerful means of self-expression, and I believe in the transformative power of creative education.
2012-2013: Art Teacher at The Study Lecole International School, Puducherry
During my time at The Study Lecole International School, I worked with a diverse group of students, guiding them to explore their artistic abilities through structured lessons and creative challenges. My role involved not only teaching the techniques and fundamentals of art but also encouraging students to experiment and express themselves freely. The most rewarding aspect of my work was watching each student develop their own artistic style and gain confidence in their creativity.
Summer Workshops at Bal Bhavan
These summer workshops provided a wonderful opportunity for young learners to immerse themselves in the world of art. Over the course of these programs, I introduced children to a variety of art forms, from painting and clay modeling to various craft activities. The workshops were designed to stimulate their imagination, promote problem-solving through creative projects, and allow them to enjoy the process of making something beautiful with their hands. The excitement and joy I saw in the children as they created their own masterpieces were truly priceless.
Regular Instructor at Jayalakshmi Fine Art Academy
At Jayalakshmi Fine Art Academy, I have had the privilege of working with dedicated students who are eager to hone their artistic skills. I’ve taught a wide range of techniques, from classical drawing and painting to modern and experimental art forms. As a mentor, my goal has always been to guide students beyond mere technical mastery—to help them find their own artistic voice and grow in their understanding of the deeper concepts behind their work. Many of my students have gone on to explore professional art careers, and it fills me with pride to know I played a part in their artistic journeys.
Collaborations and Outreach
I strongly believe in the importance of community engagement, which is why I regularly collaborate with schools, colleges, and cultural organizations to host art workshops, painting camps, and sculpture demonstrations. These events offer participants the chance to engage with art in a more hands-on and personal way, helping them learn new techniques and gain a deeper appreciation for the creative process. It’s always incredibly rewarding to see the excitement and growth of participants as they explore art beyond the confines of a traditional classroom setting.
As an educator, my primary goal is to empower each student, providing them with the tools, techniques, and encouragement they need to fully embrace their creative potential. Whether through individual mentoring or group workshops, I aim to create an environment where artists of all levels can feel supported, inspired, and confident in their ability to create.
