1st Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering

Organizers

  • Pasquale Ardimento (University of Bari Aldo Moro, Bari Italy) received his degree with full marks and honors in Computer Science in 2001 from the University of Bari (Italy). He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Department of Informatics at the University of Bari in 2005. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Informatics of the University of Bari. His main research interests include software engineering (maintenance, testing, data mining on software systems, software quality assurance with a particular interest in internal quality metrics). He serves both as a member of the program and organizing committees of conferences, and as a reviewer of papers submitted to some of the main journals and magazines in the field of software engineering and software maintenance.

  • Akhtar Jamil (School of Computing National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan. Before joining FAST, he served as Assistant Professor and Vice Head of the Computer Engineering Department at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Istanbul, Turkey. He also served as a Lecture at COMSATS University Islamabad. He has also worked in the industry as a developer for several years. He received his Ph.D. from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in Machine Learning and Remote Sensing. He has published more than 50 high-quality papers in well-known journals and top conferences. He received a fully-funded Ph.D. scholarship from the Turkish Government. He is the founding member of the ICMI, ICAETA and ICCIDA conferences. He serves as a reviewer for several journals and conferences. He focuses on applied research for solving real-world problems. His current research interests include statistical machine learning, deep learning, pattern recognition, Data Analytics, image classification, and remote sensing.

  • Michele Scalera (University of Bari Aldo Moro, Bari Italy) received his degree in 1987 in Information Sciences at the University of Bari. He is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science since 2001 at the same University. He is currently a professor of Computer Networks and of Software Systems Integration and Test at the Department of Computer Science. His main research interests include software production processes oriented towards three areas: the integration of components, commercial and Open Source, and Web Services; cyber security policies and techniques for the security of enterprise networks; analysis of the critical issues deriving from the economic and pedagogical sustainability of traditional learning paradigms applied to e-learning training. He is a reviewer of papers submitted to several journals and magazines in the field of software engineering and e-learning. Michele Scalera is author of fifty-nine scientific articles of which twenty-three are published in international journals and thirty-six in international congresses.
