KNUST Elearning Partners with Indian High Commission on E-V BAB Initiative
The KNUST Elearning Centre has partnered with the Indian High Commission to launch the EVBAB Project, aimed at enhancing online facilitation and assessment for students and faculty. The collaboration will provide advanced tools and resources to create a more interactive and efficient online learning environment.
MASTERCARD FOUNDATION E-LEARNING INITIATIVE
MASTERCLASS AND CONTENT CREATION WORKSHOP FOR FACULTY OF KNUST AND AFFILIATE INSTITUTIONS
Prof. Eric Asante, Director of the E-learning Center together with his team and in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation and Arizona State University (ASU) designed a Masterclass Content Creation Workshop for the faculty of KNUST and affiliate institutions from the 6th of November to the 17th of November 2023. The goal of this workshop was to empower educators with the skills and tools necessary to develop high-quality educational content tailored to digital platforms, thereby enhancing the learning experience for their students.
Participants were grouped into two cohorts and were engaged in hands-on practical exercises and interactive discussions. The sessions aimed to encourage creativity and innovation in course delivery, aligning with the dynamic changes in the field of online education.
E - HAPPY PROJECT
MASTERCARD FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH AGRI-IMPACT LIMITED AND THE KNUST E-LEARNING CENTER ON 'HAPPY' PROJECT
This initiative was through the Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) programme in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, Agri Impact and the KNUST E-learning Centre. The project aims to create career opportunities for over 8,000 youth in agriculture in four years. The programme has been tailored specially for women and persons with disability to improve their well-being, resilience and participation in Ghana's agribusiness. The initiative envisions a total of 350,000 new jobs in the agricultural sector. The initiative wishes to incorporate the use of technology and ICT in basic agricultural practices which will alleviate the present pressure on farmers and make agriculture more attractive to the youth as they are already conversant with technology. The E-learning Centre of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology will be responsible for the training of the youth on the use of technology to better their lots in agriculture.

A. PARTNERSHIP FOR ENHANCED AND BLENDED LEARNING (PEBL)
For institutions that are facing staffing challenges and the growing inadequacy of space and infrastructure, blended learning can be a saviour. Blended learning is a combination of in-person and online learning. Through expert-led training, cooperation, and the creation of credit-bearing, blended courses, the Partnership for Enhanced Blended Learning, West Africa assists professors and students at 12 universities in Ghana and Nigeria in developing a sustainable capacity for blended learning.
B. SUPPORTING RESEARCHER COMMUNITY TRAINING GRANTS
The “Digital Tools for Skills in Research (DT4SiR)” aims to equip researchers, particularly early career researchers (ECRs), with digital and research skills essential for success in academia and beyond. The initiative focuses on providing comprehensive digital and research training and support to newly recruited lecturers of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and its affiliate institutions, including nursing colleges and colleges of education in Ghana. Designed to support doctoral candidates, females, and ECRs with disabilities, the training ensures inclusivity and diversity in skill development. The training also targets research assistants of the university as well as the staff of the Training and Research Unit of the KNUST E-Learning Centre.
PREMIERE VIRTUAL REALITY STUDIO IN KNUST
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has inaugurated the first ever virtual reality studios designed to foster innovative way of learning.
The facility falls under the Vice – Chancellor’s digitization agenda which seeks to promote the use of cutting-edge e-learning technologies and pedological strategies to facilitate teaching and learning in the University.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has proven its commitment to advancing education through technology with the commencement of its E-Learning Awareness Week and the second E-Learning International Conference. Under the theme “Fostering Excellence In E-Learning Across Diverse Disciplines: Progress, Challenges, and Prospects,” this year’s event promises a rich exploration of the future of e-learning.
