My name is Michael Mulrennan and I am a 25 (almost 26) year old, first year teacher here at Highview Middle! I recently graduated with my Masters in Education from the University of Minnesota with teaching licensures in both ESL (English as a Second Language) and Spanish. I have always had a passion for teaching, but it was when I studied abroad in Spain that I fell in love with language. I have been on a path towards teaching them ever since.  

I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I attended public school throughout my childhood and am committed to working in that educational sector. I received my BA from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. While there, I was involved in outdoor education programming, intramural sports, writing tutoring, and student-teacher partnerships. I majored in Hispanic Studies and English literature, both of which I carry with me to this day. 

My hobbies include hiking, cooking, playing basketball and soccer, spending time at my family cabin, and getting out into nature whenever I can.  I currently reside in Uptown and enjoy going for runs around the lake at sunset.
