Prof. Nawaz Khan obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Madras (2003) under the guidance of Prof. C. Narayana Pillai, former Head, Department of Chemistry, IIT, Madras.
Dr. Khan served as a postdoctoral fellow (2003-2004) under the supervision of Prof. Yoshinori Yamamoto at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He had served as well as a Research professor (2010, 2014) at Korea Basic Science Institute, Busan, South Korea (https://www.kbsi.re.kr/eng).
Prof. Khan’s research activity focuses on organic synthesis and methodologies employing environmentally benign homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts and metal nanocatalysts.
Dr. Khan's group also focuses on C-H activation and functionalization studies and has authored more than 250 publications, graduated 19 Ph.D. students, and had 3 Ph.D. students submit theses. And guiding 6 more Ph.D. students now.
