During the course, students become familiar with the essence, participants, and objectives of strategy, as well as various strategic, planning, organizational, and decision-making methods and tools. The course is project based, during which students are required to prepare a strategic plan.
The course aims to examine businesses from a contingency perspective, focusing on how they interact with their external environment as well as their internal processes. It also covers key organizational characteristics, including work and power structures, business functions, broader issues of resource management, value creation processes, and the financial aspects of investment strategies and overall operations.
The module introduces students to the core principles of sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), with a focus on how climate change and global challenges shape modern business practices. It explores the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of business in both local and international contexts. Through interactive teaching methods and practical simulations, students gain a deeper understanding of real-world business risks and opportunities related to sustainability, while developing the analytical tools needed to apply economic thinking to contemporary environmental and social issues.
