Lab Services

My group specializes in load calculations, system sizing, and modeling and simulation of building HVAC systems, including whole-building energy modeling for applications such as LEED energy credits and the Section 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Tax Deduction. Our research also extends to the simulation and analysis of innovative systems and emerging technologies that are challenging to model using conventional energy simulation tools.

We utilize a wide range of software platforms, including EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, TRNSYS, Modelica, Trane TRACE, COMSOL, AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, among others. In addition, we apply various programming languages—such as Python, Fortran, C++, and MATLAB—to support advanced modeling, data processing, and system integration tasks.
