In a Spin Coater, rotation is continued while the fluid spins off the edges of the substrate, until the desired thickness of the film is achieved. The applied solvent is usually volatile, and simultaneously evaporates. Our customized system has a max. rpm up to 10000. It also has provision for thermal sensor for the pre heating of the deposited sample using halogen bulb as well as vacuum upto 10^-2 mbar.
The Schlenk Line is used for the handling of air or water sensitive chemicals. It has a Nitrogen gas manifold, a vacuum manifold (for evacuating glassware), and a vacuum pump (attached to the vacuum manifold). At a time 4 person can work on it. For synthesis of samples using rota-mantle with temperature upto 200 degree celsius as well as the hot-injection method, it is used extensively.
Hall Measurement provides a plethora of information regarding the type, number, and properties of the charge carriers that constitute the current in the sample and the resulting Hall Coefficient. Our setup consists of an electromagnet of 1-1.5 Tesla, a constant current power supply(Model-CC-100), a digital Gauss meter (Type-DGM-100, Vijayanta Technologies pvt. ltd., Roorkee) and self made sample holder.
The source meter and constant current source are used for many analysis including I-V characteristics of a sample and Impedance analysis.
The Solar Simulator provides a platform to test our samples under solar radiance. The Xenon bulbs attached to the system provides power up to 100 mW/cm^2. It is useful in the study of various fabricated solar cell parameters.
A centrifuge is used for the separation of fluids, gas or liquid, based on density. Separation is achieved by spinning a vessel containing material at high speed; the centrifugal force pushes heavier materials to the outside of the vessel . Our system provides maximum upto 20000 rpm.
Muffle furnace is used for testing the sample at high temperatures. Our furnace is from Precious Techno Engineering, New Delhi and provides a temperature range upto 1200 degree Celsius along with PID controllers.
Hot Air Oven (Gon Engineering Works) serves the purpose of drying and keeping glass laboratory apparatus. The oven can reach up to 200 degree Celsius equipped with a PID controller.
Spray Coating is another technique for depositing thin films onto a substrate. The setup consists of a nozzle sprayer through which the coating product comes out and the compressor which pushes the sample through the nozzle.
