She parlays over 20 years of experience in maritime leadership positions, specialized in hazmat & energy (crude & chemicals) transportation.
Since 2014 she serves as Faculty, Researcher of the BTI Institute, and Director of LTPP (2014-2020), led by the College of Technology, University of Houston.
A valued principal investigator with the BTI Institute, a DHS Center of Excellence, since 2015. Her research Grants as PI and Co-PI have exceeded $1,300,000, as part of larger-scale projects exceeding $4,000,000.
Since 2018 she leads a DHS-funded educational grant, and is the lead course developer for a new Undergrad Program, a Graduate Program, and two Certification/Continuing Education Programs. From 2020-2022 she is the Co-PI in a State Department research/educational project.
