Dr. Shahid Qureshi
I am an ex-faculty member at the Technical University of Berlin, at Kempten University, Germany, SP Jain Dubai, Frankfurt School of Finance, and Toulouse Business School, France.
Served as Director, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), and Professor at Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi from 2010 to 2022.

Dr. Qureshi has a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from the Technical University - of Berlin, an MBA from Lahore University of Management Science - in Pakistan, a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology - in Bangkok, Thailand, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from UET Lahore. Dr. Shahid is a fellow of the Babson Business School with training in entrepreneurship pedagogy, research, and starting up new entrepreneurial centers.
Dr. Qureshi is passionate about transforming universities and research institutions into entrepreneurial universities (institutions), enabling young men and women to be opportunity creators and problem solvers. He has been working locally and internationally in this area and has helped numerous Universities and Institutions.
As a Rector of GIFT University, he is leading this initiative with the help of faculty and the management team. Around 8000 students are being engaged in learning and activities enabling them to act entrepreneurially.
Before GIFT, Dr. Shahid played a leading role at IBA Karachi for more than 12 years as a Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Development not only at IBA but nationwide i.e. Baluchistan, Sind, Punjab, and KPK.
He has served as a visiting faculty at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, the Frankfurt School of Finance, the Kempton School of Business, and the SP Jain School of Business - Dubai. He served as a member of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Pakistan team and board of the National ICT R&D Fund (Ignite).
His research focuses on entrepreneurship, technology entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial marketing, and entrepreneurial universities and has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Technology Transfer, the Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship, the International Journal of Business and Social Science, etc. As a member of the Ignite board, he contributed to the design of the NICs model.
Dr. Shahid developed an interesting model of Entrepreneurship which is very useful for technology startups. This model has won the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education Award from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship in 2017 and 2021. Dr. Shahid has helped many scientists discover their entrepreneurial potential and start new ventures.

Dr Shahid Qureshi has around 20 research publications and book chapters besides over one dozen case studies and several training manuals and booklets related to entrepreneurship. He has offered entrepreneurship development workshops at more than 30 universities across Pakistan, trained hundreds of faculty members, and given lectures at universities in over six Asian and European countries.
Hundreds of people have benefitted from this model in Pakistan, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe.
