About us:
Welcome to the Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics Lab!
Driven by scientific curiosity and inspired by emerging technological frontiers, our group explores the physics of energy materials at the nanoscale. We employ Density Functional Theory (DFT) and advanced computational techniques to uncover the fundamental mechanisms governing the properties of materials.
Condensed matter systems exhibit a rich variety of exotic behaviors, from topological phases to intricate magnetic interactions. We develop and apply both analytical and numerical models to describe the complex interplay of electrons, spins, and lattice structures.
Our research spans a diverse range of topics, including topological quantum materials, thermoelectrics, solar energy harvesting, magnetism and spintronics, catalysis, and machine learning for materials discovery. By integrating machine learning with traditional first-principles methods, we accelerate the screening and design of next-generation materials for sustainable energy and advanced technologies.
Join us:
(1) We are looking for bright scholars graduated from Physics or Material science who wish to pursue PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics. Few of the focused area involves topological quantum systems, magnetism and spintronics and renewable energy materials.
(2) We are also looking for candidates interested to apply for SERB-NPDF funded postdoctoral positions and DST-women scientist fellowship.
(3) We are looking for research intern for 4 to 6 months in our lab under IRCC program@IIT Bombay. Please follow the link for application: Apply here
