Producer's Ring
The Producer's Ring is a fictional universe, a stark, post-apocalyptic landscape (or another man's view of heaven, depending on how you look at it). Everything comes down to power and money and the commodification of everything, and in particular, male sexuality. Entertaining the bloodthirsty masses is king, and the producer's of the entertainment industry shape and control the world. Celebrity is nothing more than a key to open a door. A wrestling victory over another celebrity is prerequisite to walking through the door to claim fame, riches, and power. Sexuality, sensuality, and homoeroticism combine with combat to determine the fortunes of talented hopefuls. Everyone is a product. Sexuality is a commodity. And victory in combat is the currency of political power.
The matches are indexed in the menu, and they are grouped by the format/fight context. Some of them build on through-stories, others don't. The Focus Group matches tend to feature film stars wrestling naked in a bathhouse arena. The News Division focuses exclusively on national news personalities in various settings and gear. The TV League, as you might imagine, centers on matches between television stars, typically in the ring. The Secretarial Pool stars male models who, in the world of the Producer's Ring, are the corporate movers and shakers who throw down with the talent and each other in various settings. The Masked Division is for burned out, last chance stars to hold onto final, fleeting moments of fame and employment, as losers are unmasked, sexually humiliated, and run out of the industry in front of a television audience. The All-Stars are for world class athletes intent on translating their fame into acting careers.
