Practice comparing measures of quantitative data to groups within the same sample (shape, center, spread, strangeness) and population data (z-scores and p-values)
Find measures to make conclusions about if there are differences in temperatures by location/time of day/years etc. in the school
Determine if these temperatures might have an impact on students' learning
You are going to use data to compare the temperatures between two sections of the school so that you can practice comparing quantitative data in various ways.
Decide on your research question and use stapplet or iStats to make side-by-side histograms or box plots.
Create a presentation - you can use this template.
Paste a link to your presentation in Schoology. Make sure you change the sharing settings so that I can view it.
You will receive a Grade Grade and a Proficiency Grade for this project.
When we compare data we don't say things like
The average temperature of the first floor was 78°F and the second floor was 79°F.
Instead, we would say:
The average temperature of the first floor was 78°F which was 1°F cooler than the the second floor which was 79°F.
