How can I use smartphone photography techniques and editing to create images that look as professional as DSLR photos?
My goal for this project is to share the photography knowledge I’ve built over the years in a way that’s accessible, fun, and doesn’t require expensive gear. I believe great photography isn’t about having the latest camera, it’s about learning to see creatively and use the tools you already have. With smartphones becoming more powerful every year, anyone can start capturing amazing images. I want to help others discover that joy and confidence behind the lens, using just the camera in their pocket.
The definition of photography is “drawing with light”, and where there is light, there must be shadow. Look around your world and take a snap of the shadows that surround you.
Let’s capture movement or what’s known in the photographic world as “The Decisive Moment”; the perfect second to press the shutter.
A still life focuses on still objects. The subject matter is inanimate, typically with a focus on household objects, flowers, or fruits.
Let’s experiment with the most common photographic theme,
the portrait. Historically, photographic portraits were commissioned to mark the passing of time or in celebration.
Let's explore the landscapes around us. Landscape photography is the art of capturing pictures of nature and the outdoors in a way that brings your viewer into the scene.
Time to colour your world!
Let’s use colour to evoke an emotion or simply celebrate all the colours around us.
