Geosoftech operates the QR & Barcode Scanner app
Camera data
The camera is used only to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. The app does not store or upload images or video frames.
Contacts information
If you choose to create a contact QR code, the app reads the contact details you select (name, phone number, email, postal address). This information is used only for generating the QR code and is not stored after the task is completed.
Storage and media access
Storage access is used when you save or export barcode images or text files. These files remain on your device until you decide to delete them.
Wi-Fi details
When you scan a Wi-Fi QR code, the app reads information like SSID and password only to help your device connect to the network. These details are not saved or sent anywhere.
Crash data (optional)
If you enable the error-reporting option, the app sends crash logs and basic device information to Sentry. This helps diagnose issues and improve app stability. You can turn this off anytime in Settings.
User-shared content
Any text, link, or barcode content you decide to share is handled directly by the app you choose (such as email, SMS, or browser). Nothing is stored or transmitted by the scanner app itself.
The app works based on your consent through Android’s permission system. All collected data is used only to perform actions requested by you, such as scanning, generating, saving, or sharing codes, or connecting to Wi-Fi.
Crash data is processed only to fix errors and improve performance, and only if you enable the reporting feature.
The app does not sell personal data or share information with advertisers.
Crash reports are sent to Sentry only when the reporting option is enabled.
Any content you intentionally share (email, SMS, browser search) is sent only to the app you select.
Your scan history and favorites are stored only on your device. You can delete them anytime from the Settings section.
Files you save, such as barcode images or text exports, remain in your device storage until you remove them.
No scan data, Wi-Fi data, or contact data is stored on external servers.
All scanning and QR-generation processes run on your device.
The app does not sync or upload your data.
Optional crash reports sent to Sentry use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Additional encryption is not needed because no sensitive data leaves your device.
You can grant or revoke camera, contacts, or storage permissions at any time through your device settings.
You can turn off error reporting in the app’s Settings section.
You may clear your scan history at any time.
You may delete any files saved by the app using your device’s file manager.
For privacy-related questions, please reach out through the support email or website listed on the app’s Google Play page.
