Dr. Pranav Kumar

PostDoc Researcher, Institut für Materialwissenschaft der Universität Stuttgart

I am currently working with Dr. Yuji Ikeda and Prof. Blazej Grabowski at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, focusing on Laves phase alloys for hydrogen storage applications.

I earned my PhD from IIT Madras, India, where I had the privilege of working with Prof. Ilaksh Adlakha on a research project examining solute-induced embrittlement and its effects on plasticity in metals and alloys.

I am also actively seeking collaboration opportunities in the field of computational materials modelling. Feel free to email me.

My research interests are

• Developing machine-learning interatomic potentials for molecular dynamics simulations

• Investigating the stability of alloys for hydrogen storage

• Modeling dislocation slip and plasticity across multiple length scales

• Studying dislocation core structure and mobility at the atomistic scale

• Understanding plasticity in low-symmetry crystals

• Simulating nanocomposites and intermetallic materials

• Exploring structure–property relationships using data-driven approaches
