Previous Funded Research
Project: "Low Carbon Cement, Phase 3"
(PI: Dr Shashank Bishnoi, funded by Swiss Development Cooperation)
My contribution: Characterised calcined clay to evaluate its physicochemical properties and assess its suitability for use in limestone-calcined-clay cement (LC3) systems.
Project: "Waterless concrete using Martian Regolith"
(PI: Dr Piyush Chaunsali, funded by EXTEM)
My contribution: Developed and optimised the mix design of Martian regolith-based binders and evaluated their mechanical performance.
Project: "Biomass for SCM Processing"
(PI: Dr Varun S. Kumar, Co-PI: Dr Piyush Chaunsali, funded by FLSmidth)
My contribution: Characterised the calcined products to investigate their reactivity and potential filler effect for use as supplementary cementitious materials.
Project: "Performance Evaluation of Biomass Ash-Based Binders for Building Applications"
(PI: Dr Piyush Chaunsali, funded by Saint-Gobain Research Institute)
My contribution: Formulated OPC-based binder mixes incorporating high volumes of silica-rich biomass ash and assessed their fresh and hardened properties.
