The aim of this case study is to analyze data from smart devices manufactured by Bellabeat, a high-tech manufacturer of health-focused products for women and use it to gain insight into how consumers are using their smart devices. The insights discovered will then help guide marketing strategy for the company. The three question to guide the future marketing strategy:
• What are some trends in smart device usage?
• How could these trends apply to Bellabeat customers?
• How could these trends help influence Bellabeat marketing strategy?
KEY INSIGHTS
1. Daily Activity Notifications :
Analyzed user data and identified a positive correlation between steps and calories burned.
Implemented a notification system to encourage users to achieve the recommended 7,500 daily steps when falling short.
2. Sleep Optimization Alerts :
Found that most users do not meet the recommended 6-8 hours of sleep.
Introduced targeted notifications and educational posts to promote better sleep habits and improve overall wellness.
3. Enhanced Smart Device Usability :
Over 50% of users are classified as active or fairly active.
Recommended durability, water resistance, and lightweight design improvements.
Additionally, proposed feature enhancements to drive daily engagement among less active users.
4. Gamification & Rewards :
Recognized that notifications alone may not drive motivation.
Designed a reward-based system to incentivize consistent goal achievement, enhancing user engagement and long-term adherence.
