PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: August 2, 2026
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Private PDF: Reader & Tools (“Private PDF,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is provided by [DEVELOPER OR COMPANY LEGAL NAME].
This Privacy Policy explains how the App accesses, processes, stores, and shares information. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
SUMMARY
Private PDF is designed to process PDF documents and images locally on your Android device.
The App does not require an account. We do not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, passwords, payment information, or document contents.
Documents selected in the App are processed on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or to an online PDF conversion service.
If advertising is enabled in the version of the App you use, Google AdMob may automatically collect limited device, usage, diagnostic, and advertising information as described below.
DOCUMENTS AND IMAGES
The App allows you to select PDF documents and images using Android’s system file picker or by sharing files from another application.
The App may access selected files to perform functions requested by you, including:
Opening and reading PDF documents
Searching and annotating PDFs
Merging or splitting PDF files
Extracting, deleting, rotating, or reordering pages
Compressing PDF files
Converting images to PDF
Converting PDF pages to images
Adding watermarks or page numbers
Adding or removing password protection
Printing, saving, or sharing output files
Your documents, images, passwords, annotations, and document contents are processed locally on your device. We do not receive, view, store, or transmit these materials to our servers.
When you share an output file, the file is sent only to the application or service you choose through Android’s sharing interface. That third party’s handling of the file is governed by its own privacy policy.
LOCAL STORAGE AND TEMPORARY FILES
The App may create temporary working copies, page previews, thumbnails, and output files in app-private storage while processing documents.
Temporary workspaces are scheduled for deletion after approximately seven days. Android may remove temporary data earlier when storage is needed. Temporary app data is also removed when you clear the App’s storage or uninstall the App.
The App may store a local list of recently opened documents to provide quick access. This information remains on your device and is not sent to us.
Files that you explicitly save to Downloads or another location remain there until you delete them. Uninstalling the App may not delete files you saved outside the App’s private storage.
PASSWORDS AND PROTECTED DOCUMENTS
Passwords entered to open, protect, or unlock PDF documents are used locally to perform the requested operation.
We do not transmit or store document passwords on our servers. A password or unlocked working copy may temporarily exist in app memory or app-private storage while an operation is in progress.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to access, modify, unlock, or remove protection from any document processed with the App.
ADVERTISING AND GOOGLE ADMOB
Some versions of the App may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
When advertising is enabled, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as:
IP address, which may be used to estimate a device’s general location
App launches, taps, ad views, video views, and other interactions
Device model, operating-system version, language, and app version
Diagnostic and performance information, such as launch time, crashes, hangs, and energy usage
Android advertising ID, App Set ID, and other device or account identifiers
Information about advertisements displayed to or interacted with by the user
Google may use this information for advertising, ad personalization where permitted, analytics, measurement, security, and fraud prevention.
Advertising services do not receive the contents of PDFs or images processed by the App.
Information transmitted by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. Google’s handling of information is governed by its own policies:
How Google uses information from apps that use its services
Google advertising technologies
ADVERTISING CHOICES AND CONSENT
Depending on your location, the App may request your consent before loading personalized advertising.
Where legally required, the App will provide a consent or privacy-options form using a Google-certified consent management platform, such as Google’s User Messaging Platform.
Depending on your choices and applicable law, advertisements may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or restricted to technical delivery.
You can manage or delete your Android advertising ID through your device’s privacy or advertising settings. You may also be able to change your advertising privacy choices from the App’s settings or privacy-options screen.
Disabling personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements. It may cause the App to display non-personalized or limited ads instead.
INFORMATION WE DO NOT DIRECTLY COLLECT
We do not directly collect:
Your name or email address
Your phone number
Your contacts
Your precise location
Your financial or payment information
Your authentication credentials
Your PDF or image contents
Passwords entered for protected documents
A copy of files processed by the App
The App does not offer user accounts, cloud document storage, or document synchronization.
This section does not exclude information automatically processed by Google AdMob when advertising is enabled.
PERMISSIONS
The App uses Android’s system file-selection framework so you can choose specific documents and images. It is not intended to require unrestricted access to every file on your device.
The App may use internet access when required to retrieve advertisements, consent messages, or related advertising configuration. Internet access is not used to upload your documents to us.
Permissions and system features are used only for the purposes described in this policy and in the relevant Android permission prompts.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
We do not sell your documents or personal information.
Information may be processed or shared in the following limited circumstances:
With Google AdMob when advertising is enabled
With an application or service selected by you when you share, print, or export a file
When required to comply with applicable law, a valid legal process, or an enforceable government request
When reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of applicable terms
We do not share document contents with advertising providers.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because the App does not provide accounts or upload documents to our servers, we generally do not possess user documents or account data that can be retrieved or deleted on your behalf.
You can remove locally stored data by:
Deleting saved output files from your device
Removing entries from the App where that option is available
Clearing the App’s storage through Android settings
Uninstalling the App
Resetting or deleting your Android advertising ID through device settings
Temporary working files are scheduled for automatic cleanup after approximately seven days.
Advertising information collected by Google is retained according to Google’s own policies and settings.
DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable technical measures intended to protect information processed by the App. Document processing uses app-private storage, and the App relies on Android’s security and file-access systems.
Information transmitted by Google advertising services is encrypted in transit using TLS.
No application, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should maintain backups of important files and avoid processing documents on devices you do not trust.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The App is not designed or marketed specifically to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable local law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us using the details below.
If the App is later directed to children or includes children in its Google Play target audience, its advertising configuration and privacy practices will be updated to comply with the applicable Google Play Families requirements.
INTERNATIONAL DATA PROCESSING
Google and its advertising partners may process advertising-related information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Google describes its international processing and safeguards in the Google Privacy Policy.
YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or receive your documents, we may not hold information that can be associated with you directly.
For requests relating to information handled by Google, consult Google’s privacy controls and Privacy Policy. For questions about our own practices, contact us using the information below.
THIRD-PARTY APPLICATIONS
The App may allow you to open, print, save, or share documents using third-party applications and services.
We do not control these third parties. Their collection and use of information are governed by their respective privacy policies. Review those policies before sharing sensitive documents.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features, advertising providers, legal requirements, or data practices change.
The revised policy will display a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or its store listing where appropriate.
Continued use of the App after an update means that the revised policy applies to your subsequent use.
