PrivateDeck Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 13, 2025
1. Introduction
PrivateDeck ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our PrivateDeck mobile application ("App") for playing Texas Hold'em poker. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- User-Provided Data: Player name (pseudonym) you enter when joining or hosting a game. Lobby code (6-character code) to join or share games.
- Automatically Collected Data: Anonymous User ID generated via Firebase anonymous authentication. Device ID (e.g., vendor ID or UUID) for community card displays. Game Data (e.g., hole cards, fold/sit-out status, seat number, game phase, community cards, dealer/blind settings) stored in Firebase Firestore. Onboarding Preferences stored locally via UserDefaults.
- Permissions-Based Data: Camera used for QR code scanning to join lobbies (with permission). No images are stored or shared.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Facilitate gameplay (e.g., manage lobbies, deal cards, track player actions).
- Display game state (e.g., player names, community cards, seats).
- Authenticate users anonymously to secure game data access.
- Provide onboarding guides tailored to your usage.
- Enable QR code scanning to join lobbies.
4. How We Share Your Information
- Firebase (Google Cloud): Game data, anonymous user IDs, and device IDs are stored in Firebase Firestore and processed by Firebase Authentication. See Google’s Privacy Policy[](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- Within the App: Player names and game actions are shared with other players in the same lobby to enable gameplay. Community card display devices access community cards within the lobby.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share your information with other third parties, except as required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Storage: Game data, anonymous user IDs, and device IDs are stored in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud servers). Onboarding preferences are stored locally on your device via UserDefaults. Offline caching is enabled in Firestore.
- Retention: Game data is retained in Firebase Firestore until the lobby is manually deleted by the host or the app is discontinued. Local onboarding preferences persist until you uninstall the App.
- Security: We use Firebase’s security measures (e.g., authentication, Firestore rules) to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and you use the App at your own risk.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Leave Lobby: You can leave a lobby, removing your player data (name, seat, game actions) from Firestore.
- Camera Permission: You can deny or revoke camera access for QR scanning via device settings, though this may limit functionality.
- Account Deletion: To delete your anonymous account and associated game data, contact us at privatedeckapp@gmail.com.
- Onboarding Preferences: Uninstalling the App removes local onboarding data.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have such data, contact us at privatedeckapp@gmail.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you via the App or by updating the effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
