Congressional App Challenge Winner

Junior Edward Kenyon invented an app called College Cartographer to help students navigate critical college entrance information in Georgia. The app displays In State tuition, Out of State tuition as well and SAT and ACT requirements. The app won the district contest sponsored by Rep. A. Drew Ferguson in Georgia’s Third District.

GADOE Silver Award - App Challenge

The students created an app called Addition Partners to help young learners understand the relationship between the numbers that add up to 100. Jaccara Hodges, Zaylen Almond, and Ah’miree Powell worked together to build the app for Android and Iphone devices. The students are working to publish the app on the Google Play store and on the App Store.  In addition to winning silver, the students have been named GADOE Computer Science Ambassadors and have been invited to demonstrate their app at Math Con over the summer.

Air Force Cyber Patriot

Carrollton High School’s CyberPatriot team has advanced to the National competition for the 2022-2023 school year. The team is made up of Computer Science students, JROTC students and their coach, CHS teacher, Mr. Blakemore. The JROTC students advanced to nationals by winning 1st place in the Silver Tier for the Air Force JROTCs in Georgia. The civilian team finished in the Top 5 of the Silver Tier which earned them a place at nationals as well. The national competition will be on January 21st and will be virtually held at our campus.
