This Privacy Policy describes how Recase ("the app", "we", "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.
1. Overview
Recase is a text utility app that provides case conversion, text cleanup, developer formatting, and article formatting tools. We built Recase with a simple principle: your text stays on your device.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. Recase has no backend server and does not require an internet connection to function.
Specifically:
Text you enter or paste is processed entirely on your device, in memory. It is never sent to us or to any third party.
Conversion history (your recently converted text snippets) is saved only in local storage on your device, using Android's standard local storage mechanism. This history never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Settings (such as your theme preference) are also stored locally on your device only.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, usage analytics, or any other personal information.
We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
We do not include third-party advertising SDKs.
3. Permissions We Request
Recase requests the minimum permissions necessary for its optional features:
Storage access (optional): Used only when you choose to save a converted text as a .txt file. This is triggered only by your explicit action and goes through the Android system file picker / share sheet — we do not access your files at any other time.
No internet permission is required for the app's core functionality. If a future version includes optional features that require connectivity (for example, checking for app updates), this policy will be updated accordingly before that feature is released.
4. Sharing Your Information
Since we do not collect any data, we have nothing to share, sell, or disclose to third parties.
When you use the "Share" feature, the text you choose to share is passed directly to the app you select (e.g. WhatsApp, Email, Google Drive) through Android's native share system. That transfer is between you and the destination app you pick — Recase does not intercept, log, or retain a copy of what you share.
5. Children's Privacy
Recase does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no data at all, it is safe for use by users of any age with respect to data privacy.
6. Data Security
Because all data stays on your device and nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side data of yours for us to secure or that could be exposed in a data breach on our end. Standard Android app sandboxing protects the app's local storage from other apps on your device.
7. Your Choices
You can clear your conversion history at any time from within the app.
You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data (history, settings) along with it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
