Privacy Policy — QR ToolKit

QR ToolKit (“the app”) is built to do one thing: scan QR codes on your device. This policy explains what data is and is not handled when you use it.

What the app does NOT collect

• No camera data leaves your device. Camera frames are analyzed in memory, on the device, only while the scanner is on screen. They are never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.

• Scanned content is never transmitted. The text or link inside a QR code stays on your device. If you scan it, it is saved to an on-device history (see below), but it is never uploaded to us or anyone else, and it is not logged remotely.

• No personal information. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, and collects no name, email, contacts, files, or precise location.

Permissions

• Camera — required to scan QR codes. That is the only permission the app requests.

Scan history (stored only on your device)

When you scan a code, its content is saved to a history list stored locally on your device so you can find and reopen past scans. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. You can erase it at any time via Settings → Clear history (or Clear all on the History screen), and uninstalling the app removes it entirely.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows a banner advertisement served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google’s advertising SDK may collect:

• Device identifiers (the Android Advertising ID)

• Coarse, IP-derived approximate location

• Ad-interaction data and diagnostic information

This collection is performed by Google under its own policies:

• How Google uses data from apps that use its services

• Google Privacy Policy

Your choices: In the European Economic Area, the UK, and other regions where required, the app shows a consent dialog (Google User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested, where you can decline personalized advertising. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID anytime in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Opening links

When you choose to open a scanned link, the app hands the address to your default browser only after you confirm it in a dialog. The app itself never visits, loads, or pre-fetches scanned links. Only standard web (http/https) links can be opened; other content is shown as text, not opened.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and deletion

The app keeps no user data on any server. The only data it stores is your scan history, held on your device; clear it anytime via Settings → Clear history, or by uninstalling the app. For data collected by Google advertising services, see the Google links above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date before the change takes effect.
