This Privacy Policy describes how PestLog ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. Please read this policy carefully before using the application.
1. OVERVIEW
PestLog is an offline-first mobile application. All data you enter — including client information, job records, photos, and chemical inventory — is stored locally on your device only. We do not operate any servers, and we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any external system.
2. DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The app stores the following data locally on your device:
- Client names, phone numbers, email addresses, and addresses that you manually enter
- Job details including dates, locations, prices, and notes
- Photos you take or select from your gallery
- Chemical inventory records and usage logs
- Financial records including revenue and expenses
- App settings (language preference, dark/light mode)
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export a backup file and share it yourself.
3. PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST
The app requests the following device permissions:
- Camera: To take before/after treatment photos attached to job records
- Read Storage / Read Media Images: To select existing photos from your gallery
- Write Storage: To save backup files on older Android versions
- Internet: Required by Google AdMob to display advertisements
We do not use any of these permissions to collect or transmit personal data to our servers.
4. ADVERTISING (GOOGLE ADMOB)
PestLog displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect certain information to serve relevant ads, including:
- Advertising identifier (Google Ad ID)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Approximate location based on IP address
- App usage information
This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

You may opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings under Google Settings > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.
5. BACKUP AND DATA SHARING
The backup feature exports your data as a ZIP file stored on your device. You choose when and with whom you share this file. We do not have access to any backup files you create.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
PestLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The app is intended for professional use by adults.
7. DATA SECURITY
Because all data is stored locally on your device, security depends on your device's own security features. We recommend using a screen lock and keeping your device secure. If your device is lost or reset, data will be lost unless you have created a backup.
8. DATA DELETION
You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Uninstalling the application (removes all local data)
- Clearing app data from your device Settings > Apps > PestLog > Clear Data
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version available within the app or on our store listing. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
