PerformanceX Insight ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our app handles information when you use it.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
PerformanceX Insight does NOT collect personally identifiable information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Location data
- Contacts or messages
3. DEVICE INFORMATION ACCESSED LOCALLY
The app accesses device information locally on your device for simulation purposes, including:
- Total RAM and available RAM
- Device storage information
- Network status (WiFi/Cellular connection state)
- Android version and device model
IMPORTANT: This data is used only for:
- RAM simulation to test app behavior under memory pressure
- Network simulation to block/unblock internet access
- All processing happens locally on your device
- No data is shared externally by the app
4. PERMISSIONS USED
4.1 Overlay Permission (Draw Over Other Apps) - REQUIRED
Used for RAM simulation and Network simulation floating controls.
- Displays floating control buttons over other apps
- Used to show RAM usage percentage and target
- Used to show network blocking status with toggle controls
- NO data collection: No data is collected from overlay usage
- User control: Users can drag, minimize, or close overlays anytime
4.2 VPN Permission - REQUIRED FOR NETWORK SIMULATION
Used for Network Simulation feature to block internet access.
- Creates a local VPN interface on your device to block internet traffic or fluctuate
- IMPORTANT: Creates a local VPN only - no data is routed through external servers
- NO data collection: All blocking or fluctuate happens locally. No network traffic is logged or transmitted
- User control: Feature is optional and only activates when users explicitly enable it
- Can be stopped anytime via the floating overlay or app settings
4.3 Notification Permission - OPTIONAL
Used for showing service status.
- Shows persistent notification when RAM simulation or Network simulation is active
- Displays current status (RAM usage percentage or network blocking state)
- NO data collection: Only shows status information
- User control: Users can disable notifications from system settings
5. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
PerformanceX Insight does NOT collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Photos, videos, or media files
- Audio recordings or microphone data
- Fingerprint or biometric data
- Bluetooth device information or pairing data
- Contact lists or messages
- Browsing history or app usage outside the app
- Files or documents from your device
6. ANALYTICS AND CRASH REPORTING
PerformanceX Insight uses analytics and crash reporting tools (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to improve app performance and stability.
These services may collect:
- App usage data (e.g., which screens are visited, feature usage)
- Device information (e.g., device model, OS version)
- Crash logs and error reports
- App version information
This data:
- Helps us identify bugs and improve the app experience
- Is collected in an aggregated and anonymous manner
- Is handled according to Google's Firebase privacy policy
- Cannot be used to identify individual users
7. FOREGROUND SERVICES
The app uses foreground services for:
- RAM simulation - to maintain memory pressure for testing
- Network simulation VPN - to block internet traffic
A persistent notification is shown while these services are active. You can stop any active simulation from the app or notification.
8. DATA SHARING
We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
- No simulation data ever leaves your device
- No network traffic is monitored or transmitted
- Analytics services process anonymous technical data as described above
- All RAM and Network simulation happens locally on your device
9. SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to protect app data. All processing happens locally on the device. No simulation data is ever transmitted over the network.
10. ACCURACY DISCLAIMER
PerformanceX Insight uses standard Android public APIs for device information.
- RAM values may vary based on device manufacturer implementation
- Network simulation effectiveness depends on Android VPN implementation
- Some metrics may be approximate on certain devices
- Results may vary by Android version and device manufacturer
11. USER ACCOUNTS AND DATA DELETION
PerformanceX Insight does not require or create user accounts.
- No login or signup is needed
- No personal user data is stored on any server
- Therefore, there is no user account data to delete
- All app data is stored locally and cleared when the app is uninstalled
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
PerformanceX Insight does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is designed for general audience use and does not target children specifically.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Please check this page periodically for changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

PerformanceX Insight is a privacy-focused app that:

15. NOTE ABOUT NETWORK SIMULATION
The Network Simulation feature uses Android's VpnService API to block internet traffic locally. This creates a local VPN tunnel on your device only. No data is ever sent to external servers. Your privacy is fully protected.
