## 1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how **PDF Merger** (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the application on Android or iOS.
We designed the App to merge PDF files **on your device**. We do not operate a backend server that receives your documents.

## 2. Information we collect
### 2.1 Information you provide / select
- **PDF files you choose** — When you pick PDFs to merge, the App reads those files locally so it can combine them.
- **File names you edit** — Display names you rename inside the App are stored only in memory / local app storage on your device for the current session workflow.
- **Export file name** — The name you choose for the merged output is used only to save the resulting file on your device.
### 2.2 Information we do **not** collect
We do **not** collect, sell, or share:
- Personal identity data (name, email, phone) for accounts — the App has **no user accounts**
- Analytics profiles or advertising IDs for tracking
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or microphone audio
- Your PDF document contents on our servers (we have none)

## 3. How we use information
Files and names are used solely to:
1. Display your PDF queue in the App
2. Let you reorder, rename, or delete items
3. Merge selected PDFs into one file on device
4. Let you copy the output path or share the merged file via the system share sheet

## 4. Data storage & processing
- Merging is performed **locally on your device**.
- Temporary / output files are written to the App’s local documents storage (or paths you choose via the system share flow).
- We do **not** upload your PDFs to external servers.
- Clearing the queue or uninstalling the App removes App-managed local state according to the operating system.

## 5. Sharing with third parties
The App may use standard platform features and libraries (for example file picking and sharing). When you tap **Share**, the destination app you choose (email, messaging, Drive, etc.) receives the file under **that app’s** privacy policy — that transfer is initiated by you.
We do not sell personal data.

## 6. Permissions
Depending on your platform and OS version, the App may request access to:
- **Storage / files / document picker** — to let you select PDF files you want to merge
- **Share / export** — to send the merged PDF using apps already installed on your device
Permissions are used only for these features.

The App is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

## 8. Data retention
Because processing is on-device, retention is controlled by you and your device:
- Remove items from the queue anytime
- Delete merged output files from device storage
- Uninstall the App to remove App-local data

We rely on the security of your device’s operating system and local sandbox storage. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; keep your device locked and updated.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised policy.
