Not Today (“the extension”) is a focus tool that blocks websites you choose. We take the simplest possible approach to privacy: the extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, and it has no accounts, no analytics, and no remote servers.
Everything you create stays locally in your own browser (via chrome.storage.local) and never leaves your device:
Your blocklist — the websites, keywords, and categories you choose to block.
The reason you write for each block.
Timer settings for temporary (paused) blocks.
Your language preference (English / Arabic).
This data is used only to make the extension work on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere, and we cannot see it.
The extension makes one type of external request: to show a small site icon next to entries in the interface, it loads favicons from Google’s public favicon service (https://www.google.com/s2/favicons), using the domain name of a site in your list. This means those domain names are visible to Google as part of serving the icon. No other information is sent, and no other third parties receive any data. The extension makes no other network connections.
storage — save your blocklist and settings locally.
declarativeNetRequest — redirect a site you blocked to the extension’s block page.
alarms — periodically re-check timed blocks so they expire correctly.
Host access (all sites) — so the block can apply to any website you choose to block. The extension does not read, record, or transmit the pages you visit.
No browsing history, no passwords, no form data, no location, no personal identifiers, no payment information, and no tracking of any kind.
The extension is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children.
