goPDF is a private, offline PDF reader. It is built to keep your documents and your activity on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, the one place where data is involved — advertising.
PDFs are opened locally through Android's file picker. goPDF does not copy, upload, or transmit your documents. Everything you do to a file — reading, bookmarking, or adding markup — happens on your device. Your reading progress, recent and starred lists, bookmarks, and settings are stored only on your device and are deleted if you uninstall the app.
goPDF has no user accounts and no sign-in. We, the developer, do not run analytics on you and do not build a profile of you. Read-aloud uses your device's built-in text-to-speech, and the dictionary is bundled inside the app and works offline — neither sends your text anywhere.
goPDF shows a banner advertisement to support the app. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, and to help prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share a limited amount of data, including:
device and advertising identifiers (such as your Android advertising ID and app-set ID);
your IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate (not precise) location;
ad interactions, such as ad views and taps;
basic diagnostic and performance information.
This data is handled by Google, is not stored by goPDF, and is sent securely (encrypted in transit). Google's use of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Where required in your region, goPDF shows a consent screen (Google's User Messaging Platform) so you can agree to or decline personalised ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and limit ad personalisation there. Declining or resetting does not remove the ads, but reduces the data used to personalise them.
goPDF requests INTERNET access, used only to load the advertisement. It does not request storage permissions — your files are reached through Android's own file picker, which you control.
goPDF is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
