Privacy Policy for Weathery

Weathery (“the App”) provides weather information. This policy explains what data we process, why, and your choices.
1. Data We Process- Location (precise or approximate, if you grant permission): used to fetch local weather.- Search queries (city names): used to retrieve weather for the selected location.- Diagnostics and crash data: crash logs, stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, approximate timestamp, and an app instance identifier for troubleshooting.- App usage/performance metrics (non-personal): used to improve stability and performance.- Advertising data: Android Advertising ID (AAID) or app set ID, IP address, coarse location (e.g., derived from IP), device information (e.g., model, OS), and ad interaction events (e.g., impressions, clicks) used to serve and measure ads.
2. How We Use Data- Provide weather forecasts for your location or searched cities.- Maintain and improve app reliability, diagnose crashes and performance issues.- Serve, personalize (where permitted), and measure advertising.
3. Where Data Is Sent / Third-Party Processors- Weather service provider: OpenWeatherMap (receives your location coordinates or city name to return forecasts). We do not operate our own servers for storing your personal data. Data is transmitted to these processors solely to provide app functionality, analytics, and diagnostics. We do not sell your data.
4. Advertising and IDs- The App displays ads via Google AdMob.- AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID (AAID) or app set ID, IP address, coarse location, device information, and app activity to show and measure ads.- Where required, ads may be personalized with your consent. Without consent (or if you opt out), only non-personalized ads are shown.
5. Consent (EEA/UK and where required)- The App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect and store ad consent choices.- You can update your consent by revisiting the consent dialog (e.g., after clearing the app’s data) or as provided by the consent prompt.
6. Data Storage and Retention- Weather responses may be cached locally on your device for offline use.- Crash/diagnostic and analytics data retention follows Firebase policies.- Advertising data retention and usage follow Google AdMob policies.
7. Your Choices- Location permission is optional. You can deny or revoke it in system settings; the App will still work but cannot provide location-based weather.- Advertising preferences: On Android, you can reset or delete the AAID and control ad personalization in system settings.- You may request deletion of Crashlytics data associated with your device/app instance by contacting us (see below).
8. International Transfers- Data processed by our service providers may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your own. These providers apply safeguards consistent with applicable laws.
9. Children’s Privacy- The App is for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
10. Changes- We may update this policy. Changes will be posted with an updated effective date.
