WakeBuddy is an offline alarm clock app designed to help users create alarms, play alarm sounds, vibrate the device, show an alarm screen, and speak the current time and alarm label using text-to-speech.
This Privacy Policy explains what information WakeBuddy accesses, stores, collects, uses, and shares.
1. Developer Information
App name: WakeBuddy - Talking Alarm Clock
Developer: Ahcmad Angagao
Privacy contact: ahcmadangagao@gmail.com
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your privacy rights, contact us at the email address above.
2. Summary
WakeBuddy is designed to be offline-first.
WakeBuddy does not require an account, login, backend server, cloud sync, or internet connection for alarm scheduling, ringing, text-to-speech, vibration, or alarm management.
WakeBuddy does not sell your personal data.
WakeBuddy does not use your alarm labels, alarm times, settings, or usage data for advertising or tracking.
3. Information WakeBuddy Stores on Your Device
WakeBuddy stores the following information locally on your device so the app can work properly:
Alarm times
Alarm labels
Repeat schedules
Enabled or disabled alarm state
Snooze settings
Alarm sound selection
Vibration preference
Spoken time and spoken label preferences
Theme preference
First-launch setup completion status
Premium unlock status
This information is stored on your device only. It is used to schedule alarms, restore alarms after app restart, and remember your settings.
We do not upload this information to our own servers.
4. Information WakeBuddy Does Not Collect
WakeBuddy does not collect or request:
Your name
Your email address inside the app
Your phone number
Your contacts
Your photos or videos
Your location
Your microphone recordings
Your camera access
Your calendar data
Your messages
Your browsing history
Your alarm labels or alarm times for analytics or advertising
Advertising identifiers for tracking
WakeBuddy does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
5. Device Permissions Used by WakeBuddy
WakeBuddy requests or uses certain device permissions only for alarm clock functionality.
Notifications
WakeBuddy may use notification permission to show alarm notifications, alarm controls, and alarm-related status.
Exact Alarms
WakeBuddy uses exact alarm scheduling so alarms can ring at the time selected by the user.
Full-Screen Alarm Display
WakeBuddy may use full-screen alarm functionality so the alarm screen can appear when an alarm rings, including when the device is locked or the app is in the background.
Wake Lock / Turn Screen On / Show When Locked
WakeBuddy may wake the screen or keep the device awake during an active alarm so the user can dismiss or snooze the alarm.
Vibration
WakeBuddy may use vibration during an active alarm if vibration is enabled and supported by the device.
Foreground Service / Alarm Audio
WakeBuddy may use foreground service functionality to keep alarm playback active while the alarm is ringing.
Boot Completed
WakeBuddy may use boot completed permission so saved alarms can be restored after the device restarts.
Battery Optimization Settings
WakeBuddy may open system battery optimization settings so the user can allow the app to run reliably in the background. WakeBuddy cannot automatically change these settings without user action.
Auto Launch / Auto Start Settings
On some Android devices, especially Xiaomi, Redmi, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei, and similar manufacturers, users may need to manually enable Auto Launch or Auto Start so alarms work reliably after the app is closed. WakeBuddy may guide users to those settings when available.
Notification Policy Access
If supported and enabled by the user, WakeBuddy may use notification policy access only for alarm behavior related to sound or interruption handling. WakeBuddy does not use this permission to read your notifications.
6. Text-to-Speech
WakeBuddy uses text-to-speech to speak the current time and, if enabled, the alarm label.
Examples:
“It is now 6:30 AM.”
“Wake up. It is now 6:30 AM.”
WakeBuddy is designed to use on-device text-to-speech when available. The text spoken by the app is generated from the current device time and the alarm label saved by the user.
WakeBuddy does not send alarm labels or spoken time text to our own servers.
Please note that the actual text-to-speech engine may be provided by the device manufacturer, operating system, Google, Apple, or another text-to-speech provider installed on the device. Those providers may have their own privacy practices.
7. Alarm Sounds and System Tone Picker
WakeBuddy may allow users to use the phone’s default alarm tone or choose an alarm tone from the device’s system tone picker.
WakeBuddy does not upload, copy, or share your system tones.
If you choose “No alarm tone,” WakeBuddy may use silent audio internally so the alarm flow can still operate while spoken time or vibration is enabled.
8. In-App Purchases
WakeBuddy may offer Premium features through in-app purchase.
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing on Android and Apple In-App Purchase on iOS. WakeBuddy does not collect or store your credit card number, bank account details, billing address, or payment credentials.
WakeBuddy may receive limited purchase-related information from Google Play or Apple, such as whether a Premium product was purchased or restored, so the app can unlock Premium features.
The current Premium product ID is: wakebuddy_premium_lifetime
Google and Apple process purchases according to their own privacy policies and payment terms.
9. Data Sharing
WakeBuddy does not sell your personal data.
WakeBuddy does not share your alarm data with advertisers, analytics companies, data brokers, or social networks.
Limited data may be handled by third parties only when necessary for app functionality, such as:
Google Play or Apple for app downloads, in-app purchases, refunds, and purchase restoration
The device operating system for alarm scheduling, notifications, vibration, audio playback, and text-to-speech
The device’s text-to-speech provider for speech output, depending on the user’s device configuration
10. Data Retention
WakeBuddy stores alarm data and settings on your device for as long as the app is installed or until you delete them.
You can delete individual alarms inside the app.
You can remove all locally stored app data by uninstalling WakeBuddy or clearing the app’s data from your device settings.
If you contact us by email, we may retain your email and message only as long as necessary to respond to your request, provide support, and maintain reasonable records.
11. Data Deletion
Because WakeBuddy does not maintain user accounts or cloud storage, most app data is stored only on your device.
To delete your WakeBuddy data:
Delete alarms inside the app
Clear app data in your device settings
Uninstall the app
If you contacted us by email and want your support email deleted, contact us at: ahcmadangagao@gmail.com
12. Security
WakeBuddy uses local device storage for alarms and settings. We take reasonable steps to limit app data access to what is necessary for alarm functionality.
Because WakeBuddy does not operate a backend server for alarm data, your alarm times, labels, and settings are not stored on our servers.
However, no app, device, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Children’s Privacy
WakeBuddy is a general-audience utility app and is not directed specifically to children.
WakeBuddy does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support email or other contact method, please contact us so we can delete it.
14. International Users
WakeBuddy may be available in different countries. Because WakeBuddy stores alarm data locally and does not operate user accounts or cloud alarm storage, most privacy control remains on the user’s device.
If you contact us from another country, your email may be processed only for support and communication purposes.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make important changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of WakeBuddy after a Privacy Policy update means you accept the updated policy.
