# Privacy Policy for Vibration Meter
Last updated: May 21, 2026
Vibration Meter is a phone-based vibration measurement app. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

## Summary
Vibration Meter does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. The app processes accelerometer readings locally on your device to calculate vibration values, charts, RMS values, FFT spectrum data, selected peaks, and harmonics.
The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs.
## Data the App Accesses
Vibration Meter accesses the phone accelerometer while collection is active. Depending on the device, the app may use the uncalibrated accelerometer sensor when available, or fall back to the standard accelerometer sensor.
Accelerometer readings are used only to:
- display the time waveform;
- calculate RMS values;
- calculate and display the FFT spectrum;
- identify a selected FFT peak and its harmonics;
- display measurements in the selected unit, axis, duration, and frequency unit.
## Data Stored on the Device
The app stores the following information locally on the device:
- theme setting;
- selected unit;
- selected axis;
- selected rolling window duration;
- selected FFT frequency unit;
- the last measurement snapshot, including RMS, waveform, FFT spectrum, sample rate, and selected peak.
This information is stored in the app's private local storage so the app can reopen with the same settings and last visible measurement.
## Data the App Does Not Collect
Vibration Meter does not collect or access:
- name, email address, phone number, or account information;
- location;
- contacts;
- camera, microphone, photos, videos, or files;
- advertising ID or other advertising identifiers;
- payment information;
- browsing history or app usage outside Vibration Meter.
## Data Sharing
Vibration Meter does not send measurement data or personal data to the developer, any server, or any third party.
The app does not have Internet permission, so it cannot upload app data over the network.
## Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored settings and the last measurement remain on the device until they are replaced, cleared, or deleted by the user.
You can delete this local data at any time by:
- clearing Vibration Meter's app storage in Android Settings; or
- uninstalling the app.
The current app configuration disables Android backup and excludes app preferences from cloud backup and device transfer.
## Permissions
Vibration Meter requests `HIGH_SAMPLING_RATE_SENSORS` so it can read accelerometer data at a higher available sampling rate for vibration analysis. This permission is used only for local sensor measurement.
## Children
Vibration Meter is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
## Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app changes. If the app adds new data collection, sharing, networking, analytics, advertising, or account features, this policy should be updated before release.
