Privacy Policy for QRCheckOffline

QRCheckOffline ("the App", "we", "our") is developed and operated by an
independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information the
App handles, how it is stored, how long it is kept, and how you can delete
it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Summary
QRCheckOffline is designed to work fully offline. The App does not have a
server or cloud backend, and it does not transmit, sell, or share your
check-in data with us or with any third party. All information you enter
is stored locally on your own device, inside the App's private storage
area, under your full control.
2. Information the App Stores
When you use the App to manage people, groups and check-ins, the following
information may be entered and stored locally on your device only:
- Names, phone numbers, email addresses and notes you choose to enter
for each person
- Photos you choose to attach to a person's profile
- Group names and colors you create
- Check-in date and time records
- A randomly generated QR code identifier for each person
This data is stored in a local database (SQLite) and a local "photos"
folder inside the App's private storage on your device. None of this
information is collected by us, and we have no access to it.
3. Camera Permission
The App requests camera access solely to scan QR codes for check-in and,
optionally, to take a profile photo. Camera frames used for QR scanning
are processed in real time on your device and are never recorded, stored,
or transmitted. A photo is only saved if you explicitly choose to take
one for a person's profile, and it is saved locally as described in
Section 2.
4. Storage / Photos Permission
The App requests storage or photo library access only to let you (a)
attach a photo to a person's profile from your gallery, and (b) create or
restore a backup ZIP file. We do not access any files beyond what is
needed for these features.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob
(Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process
device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), general device
information, and approximate location, and it may use this information
for ad personalization and analytics, in accordance with Google's own
privacy practices. This is the only feature in the App that requires an
Internet connection. You can review Google's practices at:
https://policies.google.com/privacy and manage ad personalization in
your device's Google Settings ("Ads" section, e.g. "Opt out of Ads
Personalization" / "Delete advertising ID").
6. Backups
The App includes an optional Backup feature that lets you export all of
your locally stored data (people, groups, check-ins and photos) into a
single ZIP file. This ZIP file is created on your device, and you decide
where to save it and with which app or person to share it (for example,
saving it to your own cloud storage or sending it to yourself). We do not
receive a copy of this backup file, and we have no access to it. You are
responsible for the security of any backup file once it leaves the App
(for example, if you upload it to a personal cloud drive or share it with
someone else).
7. Data Retention
All data described in Section 2 is retained locally on your device for as
long as you keep the App installed, or until you delete it yourself using
the App's features described in Section 8. We do not set any automatic
expiration on this data, since it is stored entirely on your device and
never on our servers — we have no ability to retain, access, or delete it
remotely, because we never receive it in the first place.
8. How You Can Delete Your Data
You are always in full control of your data and can delete it at any time
using any of the following methods:
- Delete a single record: Open a person's or group's detail screen and
use the Delete option. This immediately and permanently removes that
person's (or group's) information, including their photo and all
associated check-in history, from the local database.
- Delete all data at once: Uninstalling the App from your device
permanently deletes the entire local database and the local photos
folder, along with all data described in this policy. This action
cannot be undone.
- Delete backup files: Backup ZIP files are saved outside the App, in a
location you chose (e.g. your device storage, cloud drive, or an app
you shared it with). You can delete these files at any time using
your device's file manager or the corresponding app/service.
- Advertising ID: You can delete/reset your device's advertising
identifier at any time from your device's Google Settings, which
limits AdMob's ability to associate future ad activity with your
device.

9. Children's Privacy
The App is a general-purpose administrative tool intended for use by
adults (e.g. managers, teachers, event organizers) to record check-ins of
other individuals, including minors in some contexts (e.g. students). The
App itself does not knowingly collect personal information directly from
children; any information about a minor is entered by the adult
administrator using the App and remains local data under that adult's
control, subject to Sections 7 and 8 above.
10. Data Security
Because all data is stored locally on your device rather than on a
server, its security depends on the security of your device (e.g. screen
lock, device encryption, and who has physical access to your phone). We
recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode or biometric lock.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in
the App's features or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted with
an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes
are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
