PocketLib is a modern Android eBook reader designed to deliver a smooth, customizable and accessible reading experience using Public Domain books. Built with Jetpack Compose and Clean Architecture, PocketLib focuses on performance, reader comfort and advanced Text-to-Speech (TTS) capabilities.

The app supports high-performance reading, deep reader customization and synchronized Text-to-Speech. The features may evolve as new reading, search and sysc capapbilities are introduced.

PocketLib only requests permissions that are essential for its core functionality.

Used to:

• Load public-domain book conetnt

• Fetch remote HTML resources (when applicable)

PocketLib does not use the internet permission for background tracking or any other thing.

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE

Used to:

• Suport uninterrupted Text-to-Speech (TTS) playback

• Ensure smooth reading and audio experience while the app is active

This service is used responsibly and only while requred for user-initiated actions.

• WAKE_LOCK

Used to Prevent the device form sleeping during active reading or TTS playback

• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / MEDIA ACCESS (if applicable)

Used only when the user explicitly chooses to load the local book files (future feature)

PocketLib does not scan or upload device storage.

2. Data Collection & Usage

PocketLib is designed to operate without collecting personal user data.

What We Access:

• Book content for rendering and TTS

• Reader preferences (font size, theme, brightness) stored locally

• TTS playback state during active reading sessions

What We Do NOT Collect:

• No personal identifiers

• No account data

• No contacts, message or media files

• No analytics or behavioral tracking

• No location data

All data remains on the user's device unless future features explicitly require otherwise.

3. Local Storage

PocketLib stores the following locally on your device:

• Reading preferences (themes, fonts, brightness)

• Temporary reading state for active sessions

Guture features such as bookmarks, offline caching or reading progress may store additional data locally and this policy well be updated accordingly.

4. Ads & Monetization

• PocketLib is ad-free

• No tracking SDKs are used

• No data is sold, shared or monetized

If monetization options are added in the future, this policy will be updated transparently.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Use PocketLib without signing in

• Clear app data at any time via Android settings

• Revoke permissions from Android system settings

• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data

6. Children's Privacy

PocketLib is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect or store data from children.

7. Feature Development Disclaimer

PocketLib is actively undre development.
