**Last updated: October 22, 2026**
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Reader Scanner (“the App”) handles information when you use its PDF discovery, reading, camera-to-PDF, PDF merging, and favorites features.
For privacy questions, contact **fortunecat0718@gmail.com**.
## 1. Local Documents and Account Information
The App processes PDF files locally on your device and does not upload your PDF files or their contents. Camera images used to create PDFs are processed on your device as part of document creation.
The App accesses documents and associated information, such as file names, locations, and contents, as needed to find, display, and process PDFs. Marking a PDF as a favorite helps you locate it again.
You do not need to register or sign in to use the App.
Local document processing does not mean that the App makes no network connections. AdMob and Firebase may process technical information as explained below.
## 2. Permissions
**All Files Access — MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE**
The App uses this permission to locate and access PDF documents across device storage locations permitted by Android, including locations outside the App’s own storage, and to support its core PDF management functions.
This permission also supports reading selected source PDFs and saving PDFs you create or merge. File access is used for document functions, rather than to supply document contents for advertising.
All Files Access does not override Android restrictions on protected storage.
**Camera Access**
The App uses your camera when you choose to photograph paper documents and create PDF files.
You can manage these permissions in Android settings. Denying or revoking a permission may limit the corresponding features.
## 3. AdMob and Firebase
The App integrates Google AdMob and Firebase. These services are provided by Google and can process information separately from the local PDF functions.
### AdMob
AdMob is used to display advertisements.
Depending on the SDK version, configuration, consent choices, and device settings, Google’s advertising services may collect or receive:
- IP addresses, which may be used to infer an approximate location;
- Device or advertising identifiers;
- App and advertising interaction information;
- Diagnostic information related to app and SDK performance.
This information supports ad delivery, measurement, service operation, and fraud prevention. Personalized advertising, where used, is subject to applicable choices and requirements.
### Firebase
Firebase data handling depends on the particular Firebase services enabled.
Depending on those services and their configuration, processing may include app installation identifiers, device and app information, usage events, diagnostic information, or service-related technical information.
These categories apply only where the relevant service is actually enabled. Integrating Firebase does not mean that every Firebase product is used.
PDF content is processed locally and is not uploaded to these services through the App’s PDF functions.

## 4. Information You Provide When Contacting Us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include.
We use this information to respond to your inquiry, investigate reported issues, and handle privacy requests. Please avoid sending confidential documents unless necessary for your request.
## 5. Disclosure and Processing Locations
Technical information described above may be processed by Google and relevant service providers for the services they deliver.
Processing may occur outside your country, as described in their applicable privacy terms.
We may also disclose information we hold when legally required or necessary to address fraud, security concerns, or legal claims.
## 6. Retention and Deletion
### Local Documents
Your PDF documents remain on your device until you delete them or another device-level process removes them.
You can manage and delete documents through your device’s file manager. Removing the App does not necessarily delete PDFs saved in shared storage.
### Local App Data
App-specific settings and local data can generally be removed through Android’s app storage controls or by uninstalling the App, subject to the device’s storage and backup behavior.
### Third-Party Service Data
Technical information processed by AdMob and Firebase is subject to the retention periods and deletion controls applicable to each service and its configuration.
Clearing local app data does not necessarily delete information already processed by those services.
### Support Correspondence
We retain support correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any applicable legal obligations.
You may contact us about deletion of information we hold.
## 7. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can manage file and camera permissions, review available advertising privacy controls, and reset or delete your advertising ID where supported by Android. Available options vary by device and Android version.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Contact **fortunecat0718@gmail.com** to submit a request.
We may need information sufficient to verify your request and locate the relevant records. Because the App has no user accounts, we may not be able to associate SDK records with your email address.
## 8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information we handle. Google’s services apply their own security measures as described in their documentation.
No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
## 9. Children
The App is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
## 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or its data practices.
Changes will be shown on this page with an updated date. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required.
