Overview
Crypto Hover is a Chrome extension that displays real-time cryptocurrency information when you pause over crypto addresses on webpages. This privacy policy explains how we handle data—or rather, how we don’t.
Data Collection
Crypto Hover does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information from users. The extension operates locally within your browser and performs the following actions:
Scans the text of the active webpage for cryptocurrency addresses (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana) using predefined patterns.
Fetches public cryptocurrency data (e.g., price, 24-hour change, total supply) from third-party APIs:
Mobula API (https://api.mobula.io/)
CoinGecko API (https://api.coingecko.com/)
Displays this data in a tooltip on the webpage.
No data from your browsing activity, such as the addresses you hover over or the pages you visit, is sent to us or stored by the extension.
Third-Party Services
Crypto Hover relies on Mobula and CoinGecko APIs to fetch cryptocurrency data. These requests include only the crypto address detected on the page and are sent directly from your browser to their servers. We do not control these services, and their data handling is governed by their respective privacy policies:
Mobula Privacy Policy (check their site for the exact link)
Permissions
The extension uses the following permissions:
"activeTab": To access and modify the active tab’s content for displaying tooltips.
"host_permissions": To fetch data from https://api.mobula.io/* and https://api.coingecko.com/*.
"<all_urls>": To scan for crypto addresses on any webpage you visit.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if the extension’s functionality changes. Any updates will be reflected here with a new effective date.
