Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Search Queries: City names or specific areas you manually type into the search bar.
Fuel Preferences: Your preferred fuel type (Regular, Super, or Diesel).
Vehicle Configuration: Your vehicle's tank capacity (used to calculate potential savings and fill costs).
UI Preferences: Language settings (English/Spanish) and Theme preferences (Light/Dark mode).
All of the above preferences are stored locally on your device's browser (Local Storage) and are not transmitted to or stored on our own servers.
Automatically Collected Information
Geolocation Data: If you grant permission, the App collects your precise latitude and longitude to find gas stations within a 10-mile radius. This data is used solely to generate the search query and is not permanently stored by us.
Device & Usage Data: Non-personal data such as browser type and operating system may be processed to ensure the App displays correctly.
AI Features and Data Processing
When you perform a search, your location (city name or coordinates) is transmitted to the Google Gemini API. This data is processed in real-time to retrieve current gas prices via Google Search grounding. We do not store your search history or location history on any external database.
Maps and Location Services
The App uses Leaflet and CartoDB tiles to provide interactive maps. Your location coordinates are used by your browser to render your position on the map locally.
How We Use Your Information
App Functionality: To find gas stations near you and provide accurate pricing.
Savings Logic: To calculate how much you could save compared to the area average based on your custom tank size.
Optimization: To remember your settings (language, theme, fuel type) so you don't have to re-enter them every time you visit.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or location data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Sharing of Information
Google Gemini API: Search queries and location data are sent to Google to retrieve gas price information. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information only if required to do so by law.
Data Security
All your preferences, fuel choices, and tank settings are stored locally on your device via Local Storage.
The connection to our API providers is encrypted via HTTPS.
You are responsible for the security of your device and browser.
Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights and Choices
Access & Control: You can clear all your data (preferences and last searched city) at any time by clearing your browser's cache/local storage or through your browser settings.
Location Permissions: You can revoke the App's access to your GPS at any time through your browser or device system settings.
GDPR/CCPA Compliance: As we do not store personal data on our own servers or sell user data, your "Right to be Forgotten" is managed by you simply clearing your browser data.
