Introduction

Base Converter ("the App") is a mobile application developed by AntoTech ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App. The App is a high-precision developer utility designed for number base conversion (Decimal, Hexadecimal, Binary, Octal, Base64), bit visualization, and data unit calculations. The App also includes a free Developer Toolkit with additional tools: a Bitwise Calculator, an IEEE-754 floating-point inspector, an Endianness Converter, a Hex Dump / String Inspector, a Checksum & Hash calculator, and a Code Export utility. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in our data practices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The App is designed to operate primarily offline, performing all mathematical calculations and data processing locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your conversion data to our servers.

Information We Collect

1. Information You Provide

User Inputs for Conversion: When you enter numeric values or text strings for conversion, the data is processed in real-time using local algorithms (including BigInt for high precision). This data is used solely to generate results across different bases and is not stored beyond your session, except if captured in the History Log.

History Log: The App includes an optional "Activity Log" that saves your recently copied results for quick reference. This history is stored 100% locally on your device using localStorage and is never shared with us. You can clear this history at any time.

Plain Text Data: If you use the UTF-8/Plain Text mode to encode strings into Base64, Hex, or Binary, this processing happens entirely on your device.

PDF Report Generation: The App's Developer Toolkit (Checksum & Hash, IEEE-754, Endianness, and Code Export) can generate PDF reports summarizing your results. These PDF reports are generated entirely on your device — the underlying data is never transmitted to us or to any server. If you choose to share a generated PDF, it is passed to the native Android share sheet (see Cordova Plugins below) only at your explicit request.

2. Automatically Collected Information

Device and Usage Data: The App may collect non-personal information such as device type, operating system version, and app version to ensure compatibility and performance.

Ad-Related Data: The App displays ads via Google's AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID), IP address, and app usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. Where required by applicable law (e.g., in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), the App presents a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) before requesting ads. Local Preferences: We use your device's localStorage to save your app settings, including:

Language preference (English/Spanish).

Operational modes (Signed/Unsigned, Text/Numeric mode).

Word size configuration (8, 16, 32, or 64 bits).

The "Activity Log" mentioned above.

Whether you have purchased Base Converter PRO (see In-App Purchases below).

3. No Collection of Sensitive Personal Data

The App does not require user accounts, logins, or registration. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, financial details, or biometric data.

In-App Purchases (Base Converter PRO)

The App offers an optional, one-time purchase, "Base Converter PRO," which removes ads and unlocks PDF report export in the Developer Toolkit. This purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing.

Payment Information: We do not collect, see, or store your payment details (such as card numbers or billing address). All payment processing is handled directly by Google Play under its own privacy and security practices.

Purchase Status: Google Play informs the App whether you own Base Converter PRO. This status is used locally on your device to unlock the corresponding features and is not linked to any personal profile we maintain, since we do not maintain user accounts.

Restoring Purchases: If you reinstall the App or use it on a new device signed in with the same Google account, you can restore your previous purchase through the App's Settings.

How We Use Your Information

To Provide App Functionality: Your inputs are used solely to perform calculations, display bit memory maps, generate successive division traces, and produce Developer Toolkit results (bitwise operations, IEEE-754 representations, endianness conversions, hex dumps, checksums/hashes, and exported code snippets) for educational and development purposes.

To Improve the App: Anonymous technical data helps us optimize the conversion engine and ensure precision across different device architectures.

For Advertising: AdMob uses collected data to display ads. We do not have access to the specific profiles created by Google for advertising.

For In-App Purchases: Google Play uses your purchase and account information to process the "Base Converter PRO" purchase and to inform the App of your entitlement, as described above.

Local Persistence: Your saved preferences, purchase status, and history are used to provide a seamless "Pro" experience upon reopening the App.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or conversion information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Sharing of Information

Third-Party Services:

Google AdMob: For managing and displaying ads.

Google Play Billing: For processing the optional one-time "Base Converter PRO" purchase.

Cordova Plugins: Used for system-level functions like the Social Sharing API (to share the app link, or to share a PDF report you have generated, at your request) and the App Update plugin (to check for new versions via a remote XML).

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, though since we do not store user data, our ability to provide data is extremely limited.

Data Security

All mathematical processing occurs on your device, significantly reducing the risk of data breaches.

Local Storage: Be aware that data saved in the "History Log" and generated PDF reports stay on the device. We recommend securing your device with a PIN or biometric lock.

Third-Party Security: Services like AdMob and Google Play Billing have their own security protocols; we are not responsible for their independent practices.

Children's Privacy

The App is a tool for developers and students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control: You have full control over your data as it is stored locally. You can clear the "Activity Log" within the App or clear all App data/cache via your device settings.

Opt-Out of Ads: You can limit personalized ads by adjusting your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Interest-Based Ads" on Android).

Managing Your Purchase: You can manage or request a refund for the "Base Converter PRO" purchase through your Google Play account, subject to Google Play's policies.

Language & Modes: You can toggle all operational modes (Signed, UTF-8, Language) at any time through the Sidebar or Converter interface.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The updated version will be accessible within the App, with the "Last Updated" date revised accordingly.
