FINreef ("we", "us", or "our") is an ocean-themed financial literacy app designed to make learning about money fun and engaging. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account and using FINreef, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Account & Authentication
Email address — used for login, registration, and password resets
Password — managed securely by our platform's authentication system; never stored in plain text
Google account data — only if you choose to sign in with Google
Profile Information
Display name / username
Birthday — collected during onboarding to assign age-appropriate content
Age group (Kids, Teens, Young Adults, or Adults)
Knowledge level assessment results
Learning & Activity Data
Points, level, and in-app coins earned
Readings completed, quizzes taken, and scores
Games played and best scores
Learning path progress (levels and steps completed)
Fishing mini-game casts and caught fish species
Aquarium species and decorations collected
Shop items purchased
Avatar customization choices (creature, colors, accessories)
Money Plan Data
Personal financial goals you create
Weekly hour/activity logs
Income sources entered during the money setup quiz
App Settings & Preferences
Daily reminder time preference (stored in your browser's local storage)
Browser notification permission status
Technical & Analytics Data
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps)
Analytics events (e.g., feature usage, button taps) to improve the app
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Phone numbers
Physical location or GPS data
Contact list or address book
Payment or credit card details (no purchases are processed)
Social media account data (beyond Google login, if used)

To create and manage your account
To personalize content based on your age group and knowledge level
To track your learning progress, points, and achievements
To save your avatar, aquarium, and money plan data
To send optional daily lesson reminders (if you enable them)
To improve the app through anonymous analytics
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information using industry-standard security practices. Passwords are handled securely by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights & Choices
You can change your age group or display name at any time in the Profile tab
You can enable or disable daily reminders in the Profile tab
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab—this action cannot be undone.
7. Children's Privacy
FINreef is designed for users of all ages, including children (ages 6+). For users under 13, a parent or guardian should review this policy and assist with account creation. We collect only the minimum information needed to provide age-appropriate financial literacy content. We do not knowingly collect more information than necessary from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
