DueTrack built Coolbench to be a privacy-respecting field tool for HVAC/R technicians. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
THE SHORT VERSION
• We do not require an account, name, email, or login to use the app.
• We do not collect analytics, we do not use advertising, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not ask for location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or any device permissions.
• Almost everything you do (calculations, saved readings, settings, quiz scores) stays on your device.
• The only information that leaves your device is the text you type into the AI Coach chat, which is sent to our server so an AI can write a reply.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE ONLY
The following is saved locally on your device and is never transmitted to us:
• App settings (units, theme / appearance).
• Calculator favorites and calculation inputs.
• Saved system readings ("Saved Jobs") you choose to log.
• EPA 608 quiz best scores and lesson progress.
• AI Coach usage count (used only to enforce the daily question limit).
This data is removed when you delete the app. You can also clear individual items inside the app (for example, deleting a saved job).
AI COACH (THE ONLY FEATURE THAT SENDS DATA OFF YOUR DEVICE)
When you send a message in the AI Coach, the text of your message (and the recent messages in that conversation, for context) is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our gateway server, which forwards it to one or more third-party AI providers to generate a response. This is required for the feature to work.
• These messages are not linked to your name or any account — the app has no account system.
• We do not use your Coach messages to build a profile of you, and we do not sell them.
• Third-party AI providers process the text under their own terms to generate the reply. Providers may include large-language-model services such as Google, Groq, Mistral, OpenAI, Cloudflare, and similar.
• Please do not enter personal, confidential, or sensitive information (such as customer names, addresses, payment details, or account numbers) into the AI Coach. Treat it like a public assistant.
• AI Coach requires an internet connection. The rest of the app works fully offline.
PURCHASES
Coolbench Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. The app only stores, on your device, whether Pro has been unlocked.
WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
• No advertising identifiers, no ad networks.
• No third-party analytics or crash-tracking SDKs.
• No location data.
• No access to camera, microphone, photos, or contacts.
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency.
CHILDREN
Coolbench is a professional tool intended for adults working in the HVAC/R trade. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
• On-device data is retained until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
• Because the app has no account, there is no stored profile for us to delete. To stop all off-device data transmission, simply stop using the AI Coach or delete the app.

SECURITY
Data sent to the AI Coach is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we limit risk by collecting as little as possible and by not linking Coach messages to your identity.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above and posting the revised policy at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
