Chill Tabs does not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal data, browsing history, or any content from the websites you visit. Everything happens locally in your browser.

What the extension accesses, and why

Chill Tabs reads basic tab information (URL, title, active/pinned/audio-playing status) to decide which idle tabs to freeze. This is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted anywhere.

Your settings (freeze timer, whitelist, Pro status, usage stats) are stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage APIs and never leave your device.

The one network request this extension makes

If you enter a Pro license key and click Activate, the extension sends that key to Gumroad's license verification service (api.gumroad.com) to confirm it's valid. This is the only network request the extension ever makes, only happens when you initiate it, and includes nothing besides the key you typed. If you never activate Pro, no network request is made at all.

Data we do not collect

Personally identifiable information, health information, financial or payment information, authentication credentials, personal communications, location data, or keystroke/click tracking. No analytics or tracking scripts are used.

Third parties

Gumroad, solely for license key verification as described above, and only when you initiate it. See gumroad.com/privacy for their policy.

Data retention

All stored data lives in your browser's local storage and is removed automatically if you uninstall the extension.
