Privacy Policy – AntList
Last updated: September 2026
AntList stores the product links you want to reorder later locally on your device. Unlike some simple utility apps, AntList does need an internet connection for its core function — reading basic product information from a link you share or paste. Beyond that, it also sends a very small, anonymous purchase count to help prioritize future retailer partnerships. There is no user account, no registration, and no advertising in the app.
What data does AntList collect?
AntList does not require an account or registration. There are no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no advertising-ID or device-ID tracking of any kind.
- Your saved items — name, link, image, category, and last known price — are stored exclusively on your device.
- When you share or paste a product link (or tap the refresh icon on a saved item), the app fetches that page once to read its publicly visible title, image and price — the same as opening the link in a browser. This request goes directly to the retailer's own server, not to AntList.
- When you tap "Buy" on a saved item, the app sends only the retailer's domain name (e.g. "amazon.de") to AntList's own server — never the product name, and no device or installation identifier. The same happens, tagged separately, when you tap one of the "Alternative prices" comparison buttons. This anonymous, aggregate count simply helps us decide which retailers are worth pursuing an affiliate partnership with.
- The "Alternative prices" buttons open a search for the saved product name on the comparison site you tapped (Google Shopping by default, or any shop you've added) — the same as if you had typed that product name into that site's own search bar yourself.
What permissions does AntList use, and why?
Internet access — used exclusively to: (1) read product information from a link you shared or pasted, (2) send the anonymous purchase count described above, and (3) open the retailer's or comparison site's page in a browser window from within the app. AntList requests no other permissions — no location, no contacts, no storage, no camera, and nothing that displays over other apps.
Does AntList use the internet for anything else?
No. Your saved item list, categories and settings all work fully offline. Internet access only occurs in the narrow cases listed above.
Does AntList share data with third parties?
When you tap "Buy" or one of the "Alternative prices" buttons, you leave the app and go directly to the retailer's or comparison site's own page — that is governed by their own privacy policy. Some outgoing links may carry a standard affiliate tracking parameter: AntList may then receive a small commission from the retailer. This does not cost you anything extra — the commission simply helps cover the cost of running the app (see the in-app "Partner notice" under Settings for details). If you use the optional in-app star-rating prompt, that interaction is handled entirely by Google Play under its own privacy policy.
Where are your saved items stored?
Your item list, categories and settings are stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard app storage. This data never leaves your device — except in the narrow, one-time cases described above — and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.
Children's privacy
AntList does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information in the first place.
