PDF Reader - Image & Scan PDF is a PDF management and document scanning app built for Android. We help you work with your files — merge PDFs, compress them, scan documents, add watermarks, and much more — all from your phone.
We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's used.
2. What Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Give Us
Google Account (Sign-In)
If you choose to sign in with your Google account, we receive:
Your name
Your email address
Your profile picture
This is used only to identify your account within the app (e.g., to save your subscription status). We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, or any other Google service.
Your Files
When you use our PDF tools, you select files from your device. We process these files locally on your phone — they are never uploaded to our servers. Your documents stay private on your device.

Usage Data (Firebase Analytics)
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the app. This helps us improve features. This includes:
Which features you use (e.g., "merge PDF" or "compress PDF")
How long you use the app
Your device type, Android version, and screen size
Your country/region
This data is anonymous — we cannot identify you personally from it.
Crash Reports
If the app crashes, Firebase automatically sends us a crash report so we can fix the bug. This includes:
The error message and stack trace
Your device model and Android version
The app version you were using
2. 3 Device Information
We automatically collect basic device information needed to make the app work properly:
Device model (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S21)

A unique device identifier (for push notifications and subscription tracking)
3. Permissions We Use And Why
We only ask for permissions that the app actually needs. Here's an honest breakdown:
📁 Storage Permissions
Why We Need It
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE To let you open PDF files stored on your device (Android 12 and below)
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE To save processed PDF files back to your device (Android 9 and below)
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES To let you pick images from your gallery when converting images to PDF (Android 13+)
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE To read and write PDF files from any folder on your device. This is needed because PDFs can be stored anywhere — Downloads, Documents, custom folders, etc.
Important: We never upload your files to any server. All PDF processing happens completely on your device.
📷 Camera Permission
Why We Need It
CAMERA To power the Document Scanner feature — so you can scan physical documents and convert them to PDF using your phone's camera
We only access your camera when you actively open the Scanner feature. We don't take photos in the background.
🔔 Notification Permission
Why We Need It
POST_NOTIFICATIONS To send you helpful notifications, such as when a long PDF processing task is complete, or when there are important updates about the app
You can turn off notifications anytime in your phone's Settings → Apps → PDF Reader - Image & Scan PDF→ Notifications.
🌐 Internet Permission
Why We Need It
INTERNET Required for Firebase services (analytics, crash reporting, push notifications), Google Sign-In, and in-app purchase validation
4. How We Use Your Information
Here's exactly what we do with the data we collect:

6. In-App Purchases & Donations
Currently, PDF Reader - Image & Scan PDF only includes a "Donate to Us" option. In the future, when we introduce ads or premium features, we will offer one-time in-app purchases (managed securely through Cloudflare for time limits) to unlock these features or remove ads.
All payments are processed securely through Google Play — we never see or store your payment card details. Since these will be sold as one-time purchases (and not recurring subscriptions), they cannot be cancelled once purchased. Your purchases are linked to your Google account, so they can be restored if you reinstall the app or change devices.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your files: Stay on your device. We never upload them.
Account data: Stored securely in Firebase (Google's infrastructure) with encryption at rest and in transit.
Analytics data: Stored anonymously by Google Firebase.
Local preferences: Settings like your preferences are stored in your device's local storage (SharedPreferences) and never leave your phone.
We use industry-standard security measures, but no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your device protected with a screen lock.
8. How to Delete Your Account
By Email:
Send us an email at support.wvypstudio@gmail.com with subject: "Delete My Account"
Include your registered email address, and we'll delete your account within 7 business days
What gets deleted:
✅ Your Google account sign-in data
✅ Your premium purchase records
✅ Any account preferences stored on our servers
What doesn't get deleted:
Your local files on your phone (we never had access to them anyway)
Anonymous analytics data (since it's not linked to your identity)
9. Children's Privacy
PDF Reader - Image & Scan PDF is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct any inaccurate data
Delete your personal data (see Section 8 above)
Opt out of analytics (you can do this through your device's privacy settings or by contacting us)
