Privacy Policy for VFocus

V Focus ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app stores or collects, how it is used, which third-party services may process information from the app, and the choices available to you. 

Information We Collect

Focus Session Data

When you use VFocus, the app stores information such as:

Your focus sessions, captured thoughts, and journal notes are currently stored locally on your device and are not sent to V Focus servers. 

Analytics Data

V Focus includes optional product analytics provided by PostHog to help us understand how users interact with the app and improve its features, usability, and reliability.

When analytics is enabled, V Focus may send limited usage and technical information associated with app events, such as:

V Focus does not use PostHog analytics for advertising or behavioral advertising.

Analytics can be disabled at any time through Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Analytics. When disabled, V Focus prevents future analytics events from being sent to PostHog. Analytics events already received by PostHog are not automatically removed when analytics is disabled.

Error and Crash Information

V Focus uses Sentry to help us identify, diagnose, and fix application crashes and unexpected technical errors.

When an error is reported, Sentry may receive technical information associated with the error, such as:

V Focus does not intentionally send focus-session content, thought content, or journal notes to Sentry as part of ordinary crash reporting.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a V Focus Premium subscription through Google Play, we may store limited subscription information locally, including:

Payment information such as your credit card details is never accessible to or stored by V Focus. All payments are securely processed by Google Play.

Used to display ongoing focus session notifications and session reminders.

You may disable notifications at any time through the app or your device settings.

How Your Data Is Used

Your locally stored app data is used to provide V Focus functionality, including:

We do not use your focus-session, thought, or journal content for advertising or behavioral profiling.

Data Sharing and Third-Party Services 

V Focus does not sell your personal information.

V Focus uses the following third-party services:

PostHog

PostHog provides product analytics for V Focus. When analytics is enabled, limited usage and technical analytics data may be transmitted to and processed by PostHog.

V Focus does not intentionally send your focus-session titles, thoughts, journal notes, or other user-written content to PostHog.

Sentry

Sentry provides crash and error monitoring for V Focus. Technical diagnostic information may be transmitted to Sentry when unexpected errors or crashes are reported.

Google Play Billing

Google Play processes Premium subscription purchases and related payment transactions. V Focus does not receive or store your payment card details.

Google Play Services

Google Play services and related Google infrastructure may be used for app distribution, subscription functionality, and other platform services required by V Focus.

These third-party services operate according to their own privacy policies and terms.

Data Storage

Your focus sessions, captured thoughts, journal notes, and application settings are currently stored locally on your device.

V Focus does not currently provide cloud backup or multi-device synchronization for this data.

Analytics and technical diagnostic information may be transmitted to the third-party services described above when the corresponding functionality is enabled or required.

If cloud backup or multi-device synchronization is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features become available.

Analytics Choice

Analytics is enabled by default to help us understand product usage and improve V Focus.

You can disable analytics at any time through:

When analytics is disabled, V Focus will not intentionally send new product analytics events to PostHog.

Disabling analytics does not automatically delete analytics data that was already received by PostHog.

Data Deletion

You may delete locally stored V Focus data by:

Disabling analytics stops future analytics events from being sent to PostHog but does not automatically delete previously received analytics data.

If you have a question or request concerning information processed by a third-party service, you may contact us using the contact information below. We will handle applicable requests in accordance with our legal obligations and the capabilities and requirements of the relevant service provider.

Future cloud backup features, if introduced, will include appropriate options for deleting synchronized data.

Children's Privacy

V Focus is not directed toward children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information stored within the app and to use third-party services that provide appropriate security measures.

Analytics and diagnostic information transmitted by V Focus is sent using encrypted network connections where supported by the relevant service.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date at the top of this policy.
